---BASIC DETAILS---
* Full Name: Laura Kehoe
* Date of Birth: 30th January 1991
* Gender: Female
* Race: Human
* Appearence:
Eyes: Laura has really blue eyes.
Hair: Laura has curly brown hair. Its a little bit longer then her shoulders-when its curly, its obviously longer when its straightened. It grows really, really slow. She also has a fringe which is surprisingly completely straight.
Height: about 5'5"
General Appearance: She is quite thin-though not stick thin, size zero, she has hips and curves but she's still thin. She has a nice figure-one which many girls would die for (not literally though) She has a small mouth, nose and ears. Her facial features are very petite, and almost elfin-like. She also has very straight teeth (years of braces) and they're really white too-don't know why, cause she eats way too much sweets! She's quite tanned-especially in the summer. She's out doors quite a lot so she gets a brilliant tan even if she doesn't leave Ireland.
She has a birthmark on the back of her right leg, like a giant freckle! She has a small scar on her right foot. Laura tends to get a lot of injuries and scars-especially when she's playing sports!
Laura has also aquired a few new scars in the recent war. The largest and most obvious is one which stretches from the bottom of her jaw, down her neck and her coller bone and onto her shoulder. However the scar isn’t too noticeable as it is very pale, but Laura is very self conscious of it, and has taken to wearing scarves even indoors.
* Occupation: Student 6th year.
---BACKGROUND---
* Heritage: Almost pureblood-has a great-great grandfather somewhere down the line who was a half-blood(also somewhere down the line), but otherwise the rest of her family is completely pure.
Family: Mother is a witch who doesn't work. Father works with the Irish Ministry (he is very high up). He has a lot of money as he was an only child and had very rich parents. He is not exactly respected in the wizarding community but definatly known and thought of as a strong figure. Laura doesn't get along with either of her parents.
Siblings: She has an older brother and sister. Her brother (Duncan) had left Hogwarts and he had a job as an auror in London-he is now dead. Her sister (Clarissa) has just finished in Hogwarts and is now travelling abroad. She was in Slytherin, and although she and Laura went to Hogwarts together they rarely even acknowledged each other. Her brother was also in Slytherin. She doesn't get along with any of her family. Although for most of her childhood she was very close to Duncan, though they did have their differences. But her beliefs got in the way of their releationship and Duncan couldn't deal with having a Gryffindor sister.
Duncan died during the war in an attempt to save Laura’s life.
History: Laura was born in 1991, in Dublin in Ireland. She already had an older brother, and a sister who didn't really take to her. She never got along with her sister, but she was good friends with Duncan for a time.
I wouldn't say that her childhood was particularly hard-she got everything she wanted. She was just lonely. Her father was never around-always working, and her mother never really payed anyone any attention. When she was 5 they moved to Drogheda (a town in Ireland).
Laura doesn't get along with either of her parents. Her father is never there, and thinks that she is an 'under achiever' and that she should be more interested in her own kind, instead of always wanting to be 'fratranising with muggles'. Her mother isn't really interested in any of her children, and spends most of her time, inviting her various other snobbish, pureblood friends into her home. They regularly spend the afternoon at the manor, and during this time all three of the children were told to 'keep away'. Although her mother doesn't like any of her children, she particularly dislikes Laura, who is considered the 'failure of the family'.
When Voldemort returned Laura believed Harry and was a member of the DA, and later joined the Order, although she was unable to do much to help them, what with her being underage and still at school. However Laura managed to convince many people that she was a supporter of Voldemort and in this way she became a spy for the Order, and managed to collect much information from students at Hogwarts who confided in her about their parents or siblings being Death Eater’s.
Laura eventually managed to make contact with an actual Death Eater, who was a close family friend, and managed to collect valuable information for the Order. However Laura was soon found out to be a spy, and was kidnapped by followers of Voldemort. She was tortured to betray the Order, and suffered greatly at the hands of the death eaters. Laura refused to give any information about the Order, not that she had much anyway, as did she refuse to give the names of other members.
Eventually they realised that Laura was not going to give them any information and they decided to kill her. However her older brother Duncan, knew of this plan, and had been there while they tortured her. While he was able to watch his sister being tortured, he suddenly realised that he couldn’t live with himself if she died. He tried to protect her and succeeded in apparating her away, however he unintentionaly brought a death eater along, who killed Duncan. Laura managed to escape, though she was badly injured and she is still confused as to how she feels about her brothr now.
Laura was at Hogwarts for the final battle and fought for the Order, despite her being underage. She recieved a few injuries, though nothing was permanent or life-threathning, just bruises and a couple of broken bones. However her two best friends Jack and Ana both died. Laura still hasn't got over the loss of her closest and longest friends. At times she still has difficulty believing that they are actually gone.
Although Laura had wanted to be a professional quidditch player, she was injured during training early in her 7th year at Hogwarts and was told that she couldn’t play quidditch again[footnote:1]She shattered her entire right shoulder and tore several musles/ ligments at the same time when she was knocked off her broom. Obviously all the bones healed, but her muclses and ligments took longer and she was left with slightly limited movement in her right shoulder as well as occasional stiffness. It didn't really affect her, except when playing quidditch because as a chaser, she used her right arm to throw the quaffle. She was told that her movement would come back eventually, but not in time to begin a professional quidditch career when she graduated. [/footnote]. After that she focused entirely on her studies, working hard with the aim of becoming an Auror instead. She graduated from Hogwarts in June 2009 with 5 NEWTs: O’s in Transfiguration, Defence Against the Dark Arts and Charms and E’s in Herbology and Potions. She was accepted into the Auror training program and due to her involvement in the war she was placed in an accelerated training program. She is due to graduate from the Grogan Stump Auror Development Institute in June 2011.
Laura has really enjoyed her last year and a half at the Institute although it is very hard and she has come close to failing on a number of occasions, mainly because of her clumsiness when tracking and her difficulties with potions. However, her performance in all other areas has been very good.
Over the last two years Laura has continued with her occlumency studies and has finally succeeded in being a mainly accomplished occlumens. However, she always had difficulty with this, and continues to have difficulty in suppressing strong emotions. A strong legilimens can often break into her mind when she is experiencing strong emotions. She has, however, taken a break from her animagus training for the moment due to the pressures of her Auror training. She has managed a successful transformation once only, but simply doesn’t have time to continue with it for the moment.
---GENERAL CHARACTER TRAITS---
* Personality:
Laura is generally a fun-loving, care-free type of girl. She's easy to get along with, but can be a bit fiery sometimes. Laura will try most things, and she loves having fun. A bit of danger doesn't scare her-especially not when its exciting!
Laura is a bit of a flirt, but she's also extremely loyal. She's trustworthy, and she doesn't like people who go behind other peoples backs. She'd never ditch or bail on a mate-not for anything. She can be quite passionate about things-especially sports! (quidditch) She's quite arty (when she's bothered) and has her own taste which she's not afraid to show. She tends to do things on the spur of the moment.
Because of Laura’s experiences in the war she can be slow to open up (properly) to people at first and doesn't always trust easily. She was a very optimistic person, but since her experiences in the war, she is much more negative. Her recent experience’s have really affected her, and she is much more reserved and quieter then before. She is rarely seen smiling (properly) and rarely ever laughs anymore. Instead Laura focuses on her school work and quidditch, and there has been a massive improvement in her studies since September.
Laura is quite a caring, compassionate person, and since the war she has been much more sympathetic towards others. It takes a lot to really earn her hate, but if you do she doesn't forgive easily. Mentally Laura's very strong, and she is a very determined person. Once Laura sets her mind to doing something then she will do it.
Although Laura has been very quiet and withdrawn since she returned to school in September, occaisonly a small glimmer of her old vibrant personality and optimism shines through the barrier that she seems to have built around herself.
* Likes: Laura likes a lot of things: sports (soccer, gaelic, running, swimming, tennis, rugby and of course quidditch!), reading (anything at all really-books, magazines, newspapers), food (chocolate, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Indian...everything), people (friendly people who are fun to be with and make good loyal friends). She likes listening to all types of music, being with her friends, going shopping, flying, being with her dogs, learning new things and of course-talking.
Laura loves duelling and is a very good dueller. She also loves being outdoors, especially when it is sunny. Laura loves the salty smell of the air near the sea.
Dislikes: Her family. They don't get along-they (her family) are not very nice people. Laura doesn't agree with most of what they say and they think that she is weak and too afraid to be more like them, though Laura doesn't want to be like them at all. They think that they're the "best" and that everyone should respect them just because of who they're friends with, and what money they have. Laura thinks that people should respect you for who you are, what you've done and how you act-not how much you can buy. She also dislikes snobbish people who think that they are above the rest of us, because of their background. Laura doesn't like people who stab you in the back and are disloyal.
She thinks anyone who is halfway decent should be friends with someone for who they are and remain loyal to them because they are a friend. So she doesn't like anyone who uses people and is only friends with them because of what they can do or get for them. She also don't like being cold or particularly wet. And she doesn't like being hungry-which isn't very often as she has absolutely no willpower when it comes to food!
Laura doesn’t like Slytherins as a rule, but has become even more biased towards them since the war, as so many of them took the side of Voldemort. Laura despises the dark arts and anything to do with them.
Habits: She bites her nails-only when she's watching sport (She gets nervous and tense). She also injures herself a lot. That’s not really a habit-she just tends to do it more often then normal people! She chews chewing gum 24/7. That’s more having a thing about cleaning her mouth then a habit though. She brush’s her teeth at least 6 times a day!
* Does your character like Quidditch? Laura lives for Quidditch, and is an excellent player. (She play’s chaser, but can also play seeker)
---ABILITIES---
* Strengths: She's modest. She's also loyal to her close friends. She's strong-mentally. She's determined and doesn't give up easily. She's quite brave, I mean she'll stand up for herself and others and wouldn't run away. She's not afraid to stand up for what she believes in-no matter what the cost. And she'll speak out against what she doesn't believe in. She has morals-she wouldn't cheat on someone or go behind their back, she would never bi*ch about a friend, and she's very loyal.
Laura is also very clever, and likes to do well at everything-this doesn't always happen though (She's a bit lazy sometimes) But once she decides to do something and puts her mind to it then she'll do it. Even though she can be lazy she always does very well at school anyway-even if she didn't do that much studying! She's very good at sports. Laura is particularly good at quidditch and soccer (a muggle sport).
She went to muggle school for a bit so she can read and write and do maths and stuff. She's quite good at Irish and very good at art. Subject wise she is particularly good (excellent) at transfiguration, charms, and defence against the dark arts. Laura is also very good at herbology but she thinks its a bit boring so she doesn't study it too much. Everything else she's quite good at but she doesn't find them very interesting. She learns/picks up things very quickly. Basically she's very smart, sporty, brave and a very good, loyal friend.
* Weaknesses: Laura is extremely lazy at times. She gets distracted easily. If she likes something then she'll always try her best, but she's easily bored so sometimes she doesn't bother too much (She still does well though).
She can't sing to save her life, or dance really come to think of it. She also talks way too much and bores people (with her over talking). She's terrible at potions (always forgets at least one thing or just knocks over the whole thing) and has difficulty sticking to rules (occasionly). She is very good at hiding her feelings from people. If someone hurts her badly, on purpose, she doesn't forgive easily. I'm not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. She can get annoyed about stupid things. Laura is also too proud at times and hates losing or being wrong.
She also has low self esteem at times. Her family don't accept her, and she feels that there is something wrong with her. Sometimes all she wants is to be accepted and she tries her best at everything in an effort to be praised. But at other times she seems determined to make her family hate her more, and does everything to infuriate them.
She also suffers from severe migranes which render her incapable of doing anything (seeing included), as a result of the cruciatus curse which was used to torture her.
Laura also suffers from moderate hemophilia C, which prevents her blood from clotting. Hemophilia C is not as severe as either A or B, and there are not as many side effects/symptoms. However if Laura gets a particularly deep cut she needs to have a plasma infusion to stop the bleeding. Minor cuts and scrapes are not a problem once Laura puts pressure to them right away, though they will bleed for longer then normal.
Although Laura is a hemophiliac this doesn't stop her from doing what she wants, although she shouldn't really play any contact sport (quidditch included). However Laura disregards this and continues to play sports, and has never yet had any serious life-threatning injury due to her hemophilia, though she has had a few 'scares.'
Powers: An animagus-a small chocolate Labrador. Laura began to teach herself to become an animagus during the summer before her 5th year at Hogwarts, and has only perfected it recently.
Laura first became very interested in human transfiguration during her forth year at Hogwarts. She read up about animagus transformations and the idea really appealed to her. However she had no idea how to start, though she did talk to Mc Gonagal who told her she was much too young to become one. That just made Laura even more determined, and during the summer holidays she researched it. She bought many books detailing how to become an animagus, and spent the whole summer studying them. Laura was always a natural at Transfiguration, but even she had great difficulty mastering it.
She was unable to attempt a transfiguration properly during the summer due to the restriction on underage magic-not that Laura was too worried about breaking the rules. Though if something were to go wrong and she injured herself in the process she would find herself in a lot of trouble with the ministry.
So Laura waited until she was back at school in her fifth year to attempt it. Though by then she had almost fully memorised the many books she had found on animagi. However despite Laura's obvious talent at transfiguration it was a long time before she was able to do it, and there were many times when she felt like giving up. It took her up until October of her 6th year to eventually make her first successfull transfiguration-which was into a small chocolate labrador.
She is also learning occlumency although she is not very good at it. She has difficulty blocking her mind at times (hence why she was discovered to be a spy). However Laura was improving slowly at it, but lately she has been having severe difficulties clearing her mind. She seems unable to get rid of her emotion lately, especially when she is upset or nervous. (Which is quite often since the end of the war.
