* Full Name: Caitlin Celeste Devine
* Date of Birth: March 18th, 1993
* Place of Birth: Dublin, Ireland
* Gender: Female
* Race: Human
* Appearance:
Eyes: Brown with glasses.
Hair: Brown, shoulder length, bushy, looks slightly like Hermione's.
Height: Is quite tall, about 5'9''.
Complexion: Is slightly tanned, the kind of tan you get from being sunburned.
Dressing Style: Slightly odd, she prefers to wear way too large shirts tied at the waist with a sash over jeans. Has a ribbon choker with a bell on it that she tried to get Aslan to wear, but he wouldn't so she wears it now.
* Occupation: Student
---BACKGROUND---
* Heritage: Muggleborn
Family: Daughter of Christiana(nee:Chapman) and Matthew Devine. Christiana is a substitute math teacher at the local schools and Matthew is an engineer. She has one sister, Arianrhod age 12, and two brothers, Geoffrey age 10, and Rian age 6.
History: From an early age, Caitlin was surrounded by books. Her parents read to her all the time and she could read by the time she went to prekindergarten. From kindergarten on, she was placed in the gifted and talented group and was rarely seen without a book or three. At home, her parents had an extensive collection of books and she read quite a few of them, which were mostly about magic and science fiction. In a I-don't-really-believe-in-magic way, she loved the stories.
When the letter arrived she was thrilled, though she didn't believe the wizard who came with it to explain at first. However, after he turned a random cup into a guinea pig she was converted, though it took a bit longer for her parents to accept that their daughter was a witch. Her siblings were also converted quickly and told that they should tell everyone that their sister was going to an exclusive boarding school for gifted students with a scholarship, NOT that she was a witch. They still have the guinea pig.
In her first year she did pretty well, though she was royally chewed out for asking stupid questions, like what a mudblood was. During the next two years at Hogwarts things settled down into a sort of pattern. She would often gain her house some points for being able to recite the textbook more or less perfectly, then lose them when she read in class. She was rather clumsy and often stubbed her toes- which only sounds harmless unless you've just done it, then it is the most painful thing in the world.
When the second war was fought she was found guilty of being a mudblood and spent most of the year in Azkaban, struggling to stay sane, though quite a lot of her worry was about her family. She survived the year and so did her family. As a side effect, she became a chocolate junkie and is now certain in her belief of chocolate as a cure-all. She usually has some in her book bag. She returned to repeat fourth year, in which she has great hopes.
Caitlin spent the time intervening years being endowed with a healthy sense of paranoia, as she studied as never before. During her sixth year, she applied to the Quibbler for an internship, with the requisite that if accepted she would have any articles published under a pseudonym, both to avoid drawing attention to her muggle-born self, and also to keep her sanity from being doubted.
Now in her seventh and last year at Hogwarts, the eighteen year old has despaired of ever passing her apparation tests, but her Transformation, Charms, DADA, and Potions grades are at the highest they've ever been; and are due partly to the paranoia, but more to her new found interest in the more cosmetic aspects of magic, especially the parts relating to changing the features, such as the color of the eyes or shape of the nose. She now experiments with the spells in her free time and has not had her natural hair color for months.
---GENERAL CHARACTER TRAITS---
* Personality: She's sort of bipolar, alternating from a calm acceptance of everything to a bounce off the walls exuberance that is really annoying.
* Likes: Reading, writing, drawing, and cats
Dislikes: Worms- in her opinion they are the ultimate in grossness, and people who interrupt her while reading.
Habits: Pulls on the end of her nose occasionally, reads nearly all the time.
* Does your character like Quidditch?
She likes flying-less things to crash into- but isn't very good.
---ABILITIES---
* Strengths: She is good at school, as she as a near photographic memory, classes involving spells, potions, arithmacy,
* Weaknesses: Clumsy, doesn't make friends easily, herbology, astronomy,
Powers: Does being really smart count? She would love to be an animagi, but isn't. She has looked for the spell or whatever it is ever since she learned about them but hasn't found it yet. (She does not know how to be an animagi, is not studying to be one, and as far as I can tell in the foreseeable future will not be one. She just likes the concept.)
---OTHER---
Pets: A young tabby tom named Aslan.
Wand: 14in ash with unicorn tail hair
Which Hogwarts house would you NOT like to be in?: Slytherin
Anything else?:
