hpredefined.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=adults&action=display&thread=464Natalie was in the midst of her first year working as an Auror under Gordon Flintock when her long-estranged Death Eater brother, who was thought to be dead, contacted her claiming that he had repented his ways and wanted to work as a spy for the Ministry. The negotiations were going well, until one night Adam - who, as it turned out, had been Imperiused himself - and several other Death Eaters paid a visit to Natalie's apartment and took her as a prisoner with the intention of getting information on Gordon and the Ministry out of her. She was tortured viciously, Crucioed until her mind broke; she was able to retain her powers of speech and motor function, but all of her memories were locked away. Perhaps it was her subconsciousness' way of protecting the vital information the Death Eaters wanted from her. Once Nat's mind broke, she was not able to repel the Imperius curse because although she retained her strength in Legilimency, she no longer remembered how to use it. But it turned out that Nat being Imperiused was of no use to the Death Eaters; they could not send her back to the Ministry and tell her to "act as herself" because she had no memory of who she had been. They decided to keep her hidden, Imperiused, in their fortress and use her as a sort of servant as they experimented with ways to bring her mind back to her. As it turned out, their efforts were fruitless. They could come up with no way to bring her memory back to her, other than by letting time do its magic. Over the two years she was held captive, certain things came back to her. She recovered her ability to perform basic magic - spells and things came back to her, but her Legilimency did not - and she remembered things like Hogwarts and the Ministry, although she did not know that she had been an Auror, or what house she had been at Hogwarts, or things like that. The Death Eaters had grown tired of Nat though, and the order was given to have her killed. Adam, who had spent the two years Imperiused along with Nat, had been growing stronger though - he was able to break the spell for periods of time without anyone noticing, and when he learned that Nat was due to be executed, he helped her escape. He left Nat on a park bench in a crowded Muggle area and sent an owl off to Gordon Flintock telling him where to find her. Then he ran, knowing the Death Eaters would only be minutes behind him. He only made it a day when they caught up with him, and he was murdered. So Nat's story begins with Gordon finding her in the park, with no memory of who she is or what's happened to her...

All good Natalie.
Didn't you want her to forget her legilimency or is that someone else I'm thinking of?

Just quickly - I don't believe Legilimency could defend from an Imperius curse, I think you're thinking of Occlumency.

hpredefined.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=adults&action=display&thread=806During the end of her 7th year at Hogwarts, she developed a major crush on Padril Crennant. However, she didn't press her feelings, and over time, they ebbed away. She ran through several relationships along the way, and now likes Padril as a friend. Her feelings still lay dormant, to be awakened (who knows when). After graduating from Hogwarts, Stacey pursued a career as an Auror, her childhood dream. In order to be closer to the training facilities, she moved from her grandparents' house at Canada, to the her father's mansion in the countryside of London, England. She trained hard, to follow in the footsteps of her parents and gradparents. Over the two year span, she learned a lot, lived a lot and her character toughened. In June 2011, she graduated as a fully-trained Auror.

But really, I think the two kind of go hand-in-hand. I mean, how can you learn to break into other people's minds and yet have no idea how to defend your own? I can change it and put it into my history if you'd like. I was just trying to give some reason why they couldn't Imperius her until after she'd lost her mind.

It's said that those of strong will can repel an Imperius Curse, and I suppose Legilimency would help in that, so that's fair enough Natalie. I just wanted it to be clear that Legilimency does not completely protect from the Imperius Curse like Occlumency would for an equally accomplished Occlumens.
Now that Stacey's graduated and has a job, is she still living with her father? I'm also not sure whether there's any "countryside" in the Greater London area...?

((Sorry for all of the extra stuff on the bottom, but I read through my profile again and realized how awful it was so I redid it. Hope you don’t mind. ^^)) hpredefined.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ravenclawcp&action=display&thread=145Current Age - 18 HistoryAfter much thought and a bit of advice, Suki decided to finish her final year in Hogwarts. Only a few days after she decided, Hogsmeade was attacked. At first this shook her a bit, but then her resolve came all the firmer. When her mother was informed of her decision , she was saddened, but proud that Suki was finally taking control of her own life. The summer between her sixth and seventh year, Suki and her mother traveled to Peru to study the Peruvian Vipertooth. Being together after so long made both women realize they were no longer the same. During that time Suki’s mother also helped her face up to her concerns and fears of what happened during Voldemort’s rule. But not everything that she did in Peru was completely serious. Her guides there were obsessed with quidditch to the point that they couldn’t stand knowing she was a poor flyer. So in her free time, she was trained by the guides on how to properly fly brooms. By the time she left, she was extremely skilled, and only fell off if she was knocked off. With that wisdom, Suki returned for her final year at Hogwarts with a new vigor. She was more comfortable in her own skin and confident in her studies. Excelling in all of her classes, she was practically a new person. When she graduated, she went to Romania with her mother for a six month study. During that time, they both kept close tabs on the works of the ministry. Both women agreed with this new vampire’s hopes for equality, but neither of them liked him much. The whole last month of her stay, Suki spent doing her own research, just her and her guide. A month later she published a paper about dragons and was quickly acclaimed by many leading experts for it. Despite her now solid footing in the study of magical creatures, she does not wish to continue her research on dragons. Instead she hopes to research the creatures surrounding the three great wizarding schools and publish a book on them. Since the areas are kept isolated and separate, none of the creatures around the school have ever been properly studied. With this hope she has extended an application for a position as the Hogwarts librarian to give her access to the dark forest and lakes. GENERAL CHARACTER TRAITSPersonality: Suki has always been a very intellectual and sweet girl. As she grew older, she was prone to a few mood swings, but generally she was of a mild temper. Very self-conscious, she still managed to be loyal to those whom she trusted. During her seventh year and after graduation, she became more confident and easy-going. With the new found confidence, she began to trust in her abilities and excelled in nearly every subject matter. Though still a little uncomfortable in new situations, she’s no longer afraid to have her voice heard. Likes: Always with her nose in a book, Suki has an undying love for reading and finding the raw truth of a matter. More prominent than her love for books and facts is her love for animals and the wild. She eats, breathes, and sleeps her research in creatures of all kinds. Not as well known his her fascination with music. But seeing how music is hard to find in the wilderness, that passion has been put on the back burner. Dislikes: When she was young, Suki had an aversion for anywhere too loud or crowded. As she grew older the desire to be isolated decreased a bit. In her mind everything is equal in the world and she trying to have as little prejudice as possible and will vehemently stand up for those falling victim to it. In the few years after Voldemort came to power, she was particularly touchy about anything that had to do with him, but she no longer avoids the subjects like she used to. Habits: Suki has the bad habit of messing with her hair or clothing when she’s deep in thought and will often have an odd look cross her face when either thinking or growing tired. Does your character like Quidditch? Suki has loved quidditch since she was very young, but she was horrible at flying. Between lessons from Padril Crennet at school and a few more lessons in Peru, she has become very adept at flying. ABILITIESStrengths: From the many, many injuries she and others have sustained during expeditions, Suki is wonderful with healing potions and basic healing spells. With her hands-on work with animals, she knows how to handle most magical creatures, what she doesn’t know she is quick to learn. Her mind is probably her greatest strength, learning quickly and accurately, she can easily come up with solutions and answers to many problems. Having learned from her mother how to play guitar and sing, Suki can be a good musician when she tries, but doesn’t give much attention to it. Weaknesses: A horrible perfectionist, Suki will often lose track of her thoughts when faced with something that, no matter how small, that is not correct. Having a tendency to get lost in her research or daydreams, Suki will often get in trouble or be late for one thing or other. When faced with something she doesn’t believe in or disagrees with, Suki tends to lose all sense of tact and manners. She also has trouble finding the grey area of matters, but she is slowly learning to find the common ground.

Post by Sky Cantorel on Apr 28, 2009 13:33:31 GMT -7
hpredefined.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ravenclawcp&action=display&thread=143Current Age: 19 Sky graduated from Hogwarts in 2009 with relatively high marks in all of her classes, receiving an 'O' in Potions and Transfiguration. For most of her school life, Sky had intended on becoming a Healer but during her seventh year she found her attention shifting more towards the Auror track. She spent the summer after graduation researching both careers extensively, and although the Healer path still intrigued her greatly, she found herself drawn towards being an Auror, almost as if it was something she was destined to do. Her stepbrother Killian, who had wanted to be an Auror himself (but couldn't due to his low marks) was immensely proud of her and supported her decision wholeheartedly. Sky was accepted into the Auror Trainee program and is doing well there, and has even managed to make a friend or two (which, for her, is nothing short of a miracle.) Sky has also done a lot of growing up over the last two years. As a teenager, she was angry a lot due to her tragic childhood; she dyed her hair, wore lots of eyeliner, and shut out everyone. She has changed a lot however, and has stopped with the "emo" attitude. While still not very social, she doesn't repel people anymore, and no longer wears pounds of eyeliner or dyes her hair black. She still dislikes her natural blonde, however, so currently she has it dyed a deep red color.

Stacey's parents died when she was a couple months old, remember? And I think there is a countryside near London. The outskirts anyway.
By the way, the house was pretty much empty until she moved in.

Natalie - I've updated your profile now with that note about Legilimency. Stacey - sorry, I misread that. Updating your profile now. Suki - all good. It's definitely better with the changes Sky - I'm not sure how feasible Auror training would be for Sky in terms of roleplay opportunities. She would still have a whole year of training left, and there aren't any other members at the moment who are signed up for that (we have a few trainees but they are all graduating in June). I'll talk to some people but I'm not so sure you'll have much to do at this stage.

Really? I thought it was two years of Auror training...if Sky started in September of 2009 wouldn't she be almost done right now? Anyway...I'm sure I can figure out something to do.

Nope, it's generally three years. There are occasional exceptions though - many of the students who were apart of Dumbledore's Army or other people who fought in the war are given shorter or altered training. Laura Kehoe will only be doing two years of full-time training and then another year or so as a "junior" auror working under someone else in the Auror Office.
