Idea's?

So I'm trying to update my characters history but I don't know what to do with like-any of them!! So does anyone have any ideas?

Laura would have left Hogwarts 2 years ago once the time change comes into effect but I'm not sure what to do with her. She was pretty undecided about what she wanted to do-she wasn't sure if she wanted to have a 'serious', worthwhile job or else just have a good time. I kinda want something that get's her involved in interesting roleplaying-something which involves roleplaying with different characters. I thought about teaching, but she's still too young, and nah... She probably would have travelled for a while first-but that would have depended on her career choice..

So I don't know what to do about Louise either! I don't really think there's much point in keeping her as a flying instructor since we now have zero first years! I can't really see her doing anything else though-at least not long term! I suppose I could make her a Professor of something else-but that wouldn't really make sense in terms of her character..and she can't do both! Any suggestions? I might just kill her-she's kinda boring anyway...

And I have no clue what to do with Emily-I mean in terms of actual history-I'll keep her at Hogwarts. I never really developed her as a character anyway but I can't just write "she worked at Hogwarts for the last 2 years!" Any ideas? She would have had summers off so she probably would have travelled and met people...I dunno!

Also, before I do update all my character's history if anyone wants to create some history[footnote:1]Yes I realise that sounds really wrong-but I couldn't think of another way to say it![/footnote] with any of them, the reply here or pm me about it. Like them becoming friends/enemies over the 2 years or past relationships and whatnot!

Just read through Laura's profile again. I could really see her becoming an Auror so long as she overcame her difficulties with potions. The Auror trainee program usually runs for 3 years, but it's been mentioned that certain students involved with the DA or other resistance to the Death Eaters have been in accelerated programs... I could see her being at the end of her "institutionalized" training by June 2011, which would mean she would graduate with Harley Duke. The plan with Harley was just to get those last few months of training in, do some duels and some other fun stuff for a month or two before getting him actually as a full-time Auror, and if that's what you wanted Laura to do we could definitely group her in too.

She'd probably have some sort of "trainee" status for the first year, but she would be definitely in the field after June. It would also be fair to say she's an accomplished Occlumens by that point (but I'm still unsure about the animagus thing with all of her auror study). Anyway, that's just one idea but I think it would suit her given her history.

As for Louise - would she be interested in managing Crennent's full-time? Tim wants to become more of a silent partner - still own the business but not so involved in the day-to-day. From reading her profile I believe Tim would hire her if she was interested - she's got the determination and most of the people skills, plus she's build a rapport of sorts with many of the Hogwarts students which is important with their location in Hogsmeade. Students are a big source of income on Hogsmeade weekends. Generally Crennents is fairly popular so you wouldn't just have her doing absolutely nothing.

As for Emily I'm not so sure. It doesn't seem likely but she could have been involved in the vampire blood transfusion project maybe? (see the main plot).

You're a genius James!! Thanks! Working in Crennents in definitely something I can see Louise doing! That's perfect!

As for Laura-yeah the Auror thing sounds good-it's something she'd do and that way she can get involved in the plot and what not! Yeah I don't really mind about the animagus thing-I might just say that she'd given it up for a while because of her studies or something!

I dunno about Emily and the blood thing though-it's not really something she'd get involved in! I'll have to think of something for her-maybe I'll just say she travelled in the summer months or something!

I am glad that you are interested in something like this. This site is in deep need of Aurors and Death Eaters around. I have been trying to get as much people from other sites to join those specific ranks (especially Death Eaters, but Aurors too) so we may start up a little plot line in the Grump Institute.

Perhaps your character wants to become an instructor or something in the Institute? Grant it, you are just starting, but that could be a specific goal you might want to take up for your character in the future.

I don't know, just an idea, and a thought.

The Institute worked (as an idea, in reality there were activity issues but I think thats mostly unrelated) because we had a fair few students graduating from the seventh year at the same time, and we wound up having a few of them wanting to be Aurors. It doesn't work so well if you have students of different ages or just one, which is why I suggested the accelerated study, so that she could graduate with Harley Duke (and Stacey Amber and Jared Krahl if they come back for it). In which case we'll have plenty of Aurors, which is great. I have a feeling all 3 sides of the plot should have some pretty good numbers by the time we're up and running.

I would think there wouldn't be too many roleplay opportunities there past the students which are graduating in 2011. Maybe the students who are seventh-years in the 2010/2011 school year will provide some more trainees? In any case it's up to Gordon and the other Aurors.

Yeah, but I thought it took three years for a student to pass that school. Maybe I am mistaken, but I was pretty sure.
Never the less, we need students.
