Tim was immediately impressed by the Nimbus 1000, but he caught himself before he could get too worked up about it. The Nimbus 1000 was indeed a revolutionary model and the first broom produced by the market-leading Nimbus Racing Broom Company... but this was from the fourth edition... Unless Tim misremembered his broomstick history (and he highly doubted he did), by the time the fourth edition of the Nimbus 1000 were released, the company was hitting mass production, and the Nimbus 1001 would have been nearing release.
And Tim was hardly sure it counted as an "antique", either. At best, the broom would be what, 42 years old? Tim would maybe call it a "classic" or a "collectors item", if he were selling it himself.
But still, the broom had a certain charming effect on Tim. It was very clearly a Nimbus - the use of Mahogany was typical of Nimbus' (though there had been deviations and experiments) and the way the handle widened right at the head of the broom was a Nimbus trademark. The way the broom bent sharply around the mid-section was a fashion from the 60s which had not been seen in a long time.
Tim could see it attracting some attention in the store and serving as a good conversation starter. He could ensure his workers were well-versed in Nimbus lore, and use it to sort of enhance the customer's perspective of the service they were receiving. If his employees seemed knowledgeable and passionate about Quidditch, then sales came easier, and people were more likely to return.
"How much are you asking for it?"
