* Appearence:
* Occupation: Auror, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
---BACKGROUND---
* Heritage: Half-Blood
Family: Did have a wife for some time, they had one child, but she left him when he became an auror. His son is now in his 20s, and in little contact. Both of his parents are deceased He also has a younger brother Brian, and a younger sister Lucy.
History: Gordon was born in a small Irish town, to Jack and Mary Flintock, in 1954. It was around this time that the dark wizard Grindlewald was defeated and captured by Albus Dumbledore. As a child, Gordon was fascinated by the stories of the incredible duels that had been taking place in the world around him, and from a young age felt the need to be apart of it.
When he was 15 years old, his father passed away from liver disease. The family's source of income was gone, and suddenly his mother had to start working two jobs to afford to send the children to Hogwarts. Gordon was forced to take care of his younger siblings Brian (13) and Lucy (11), almost taking on the role of a full-time parent during the summer. It is said that he was also quite overprotective of them at school, and theorised that this whole incident had contributed to his acclaimed leadership skills. He finished his final year at Hogwarts achieving Os on his NEWTs in DADA, Charms, Transfiguration and Ancient Runes, an E in Potions, and an A in Arithmancy. He continued to take care of his siblings during the summer for another two years, while he also completed his Auror training.
After he had been working for six years, Voldemort rose to power and he fought in the first war. Flintock was responsible for the capture, convinction and sometimes murder (under Barty Crouch Snr.'s law) of several Death Eaters, including one by the name of Jugson. Jugson evaded conviction, and took his revenge on Flintock by killing his Muggle-born mother, which prompted Gordon to spend a good portion of the war hunting him, and they confronted each other several times, once which resulted in Gordon being put under the Cruciatus curse. Jugson was a minor Death Eater who had not commited many major crimes, but was known amongst the Aurors as a good runner/weaseler and a hard target, and Gordon was frowned upon for his persistence. His wife divorced him during this time - fearing her own safety and that of her child.
Dissatisfied with both his own failures and those of the ministry, Gordon also joined the Order of the Phoenix for the last few years until Voldemort's first defeat. As a result, he was targeted (as were many of the members of the order) by the Death Eaters, and both of his siblings were tortured and killed.
Voldemort fell, and rose again, and Gordon resumed his place in the Order. He was present both at the Battle at the Ministry (where he finally took down Jugson) and at the Second Battle of Hogwarts. A few months after Voldemort's death, Minister Shacklebolt appointed Gordon Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
---GENERAL CHARACTER TRAITS---
* Personality: To women, he is smooth and quickly seductive. Very much a player, as far as fifty-something-year olds go. To his friends, he is quiet, good natured and will help out when needed. At work he is tactical, calculating, and good at thinking outside the box. He is ruthless. What he abides by is based on what he agrees with, whether it be laws, social stances or assignment guidelines, but not nessicarily what his superiors tell him. His attitude and solid leadership skills are what lead to him being the leader of the Ministry's aurors. He quite enjoys a challenge. He is not one to use his past to get attention, and would rather not talk about it, but would rather do so than fight or make a scene. Overall, he is very reserved and professional, despite everything.
* Likes: Drinking, quiet, beautiful women, that feeling of accomplishment, kids.
Dislikes: Whimps, slackers.
Habits: He often brushes his hand across his upper lip for a bit when he laughs.
* Does your character like Quidditch?: Watching.
---ABILITIES---
* Strengths: Brute force, tactics, DADA, Potions, Charms, Transfiguration, Fast runner (though as below, not too agile). He's an expert duelist.
* Weaknesses: Crook left arm from a battle wound, ruthlessness, occasionally overwhelmed by temper, not too agile, heart sometimes acts up, sometimes takes things too seriously. Often too selfless. He can't cast a patronus.
Powers: Legilimency (quite skilled), Occlumency (less skilled), rumoured to have Defensive Precognition.
---OTHER---
Pets: Two Rottweilers, Rusco and Jeff
Wand: Oak, firm, dragon heartstring, 9 1/2 inches.
Anythine Else?: He has two houses, one in the city, more of a decoy, and a real one in which he lives by himself. Its a simplistic breezy house that opens to the beach. This is also home to his dogs.
