A bunch of you guys claim to be photoshop madcats... so, I think it's time to put your skills to the test! ;D The World of Magic: Wizarding Redefined's Banner Competition!Descripion: Design a banner to be used as the top banner for the Wizarding Redefined's skin. The winning banner will be replacing the "The World of Magic: Wizarding Redefined" text at the very top of each page. Other banners may be used for advertising purposes. Winner will be judged by myself and Revan Haine, but may be taken to a public voting stage. Conditions:- By entering your banner in this competition, you give Wizarding Redefined rights to use your banner for the sites header, for any future skins, as use for advertising, or whatever we feel the need.
- The image should be no larger than 720x100 (though a few pixels over wont nessicarily get you disqualified).
- No watermarks, signatures, or "Banner made by: " etc.
- Must contain the text "The World of Magic: Wizarding Redefined" in a readable font. Either 'The World of Magic' or 'Wizarding Redefined' may be used as a subheading if you believe it suits your design (ie. The World of Magic in large text and Wizarding Redefined in small text or vice versa). Additional text optional, but clutter is not recommended.
- The image will be used with the current skin. It does not have to match the skin, but should not clash (eg. bright pink is a bad idea. Colours that go with the skin or neutral colours (black/white) are recommended).
- Banners may be animated, but must be a standard image format (no flash files, etc.)
- You may enter as many times as you like.
Prizes: 200 WR Credits! Closing Date: 31st of March 2008. How to Submit: Once your banner is made, upload it to imageshack, photobucket etc. then PM it to me with the subject "Banner Competition" and a link to your creation. Do not post your creations on the public forums. Any questions, etc. can be directed towards this thread. |

Yes.
As a side note, around 700-720 pixels long is a good size so that it fits well with the width of the page. The page is resized to 723 pixels wide.

Mere Question. Does this mean you would be accepting a Menu Button competition as well? I mean, I like making banners, but I am also up for button making too.

I actually prefer the text menu. I think it looks nice and I think that's what Jaden is trying to say.
We may have other, similar competitions in the future. However, please only submit banners to be used at the top of the page for this competition.

There is no set date right now, it will be announced within a week of the deadline so just keep an eye on this thread for any updates!

Competition now closed. Congratulations to Diana Dashwood on the great work, and a big thanks to everybody else who entered. The fact that you care means a lot, really. Diana, 200 WRCredits are being deposited into your account now. I also removed the little tags showing the current page location (eg. << Home >>). The banner looks a lot more snug and at home in that table without it, and I'm sorry if anyone misses it. The number of entrees was kind of disappointing, given the results of this poll. I understand a few of the "Yes" voters aren't here anymore, but still.  I would also like to give an honourable mention to Jaden's banner, which while quite simple worked really lovely with transparency. I set up a page for it so y'all can see, if you were interested. Jaden, your prize is nothing. THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR SPOILING LOST BITCH. Ahem. Anyway, I'll leave this thread open for comments and congratulations for a little while. Impressive work Diana. |
