History: Aethie was born and raised in Greece, near Athens. When Aethie was twelve years old, her younger sister Phimie was drowned. Aethie was the only one with her at the time and pulled her sister's body from the ocean to try to revive her; she was unable to. Since that day, she has been terrified of water and of drowning. Aethie's father is a strict Catholic and has no idea that his wife and daughter are witches. When Aethie was accepted to Hogwarts, Despina created an elaborate farce and told her husband that Aethie would be attending a prestigious boarding school in London because if he were to find out that Aethie was attending a school for witchcraft, he would leave Despina and disown Aethie. Aethie loves her father very much and wishes that he would be understanding and supportive of her career choice; this causes her much agony at home for she hates lying to him. She is extremely sensitive to comments about being a half-blood or mudblood. Aethie's great-great grandmother was a Veela; sometimes (but not often) men seem to be entranced by her. She often downplays her beauty for she wishes people to like her for herself and not her Veela heritage.

* Personality: She is very shy and introverted; once you get to know her, however, she opens up into this whole other person with a wicked sense of humor and cutting sarcasm. There's a streak of mischief in her as well, and playing harmless pranks on unsuspecting students is one of her favorite pastimes. She would never do anything to hurt anyone else, however; she never jokes or plays pranks at the expense of other people's feelings.

Habits: When she's embarrassed she will always unconsciously tug on her right ear. She can be found in the gardens or greenhouse when she is angry or stressed.
