Britain's most acclaimed newspaper, The Daily Prophet, began it's new internship program this week. "The program is a great opportunity for budding writers and journalists, who want to get a good sampling and entryway into the fields," explains Prophet editor Patricia Lawton. It also serves as a medium for underage students to begin their careers and hone their skills while still studying full-time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The interns will be provided with stories, but the Prophet editors are also looking for ability to find news in their day to day lives. Interns studying at Hogwarts will be able to provide readers with a unique look at what life is like inside the castle today. Four wizards and witches, all aged under 22, several of which are attending Hogwarts, have committed to the program already. The first of which was Alicia Laurent, a 6th Year Ravenclaw student. When asked to introduce herself, she had this to say: Hi I'm Angelina Laurent, formally known as Alicia. I'm one of the new interns at the Daily Prophet. I guess I'm supposed to tell you about myself. Hard. Well here goes.
I was born in Paris, but I'm an English girl at heart. I'm 17 years old and I'm going to start my 6th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I love reading and writing.
You might be wondering why I'm in the junior interns program. I love writing. Writing is my passion, and well... I don't know. The Daily Prophet Junior Interns program is really good, and it helps build experince in future reporters. I might be a reporter when I grow up.
Well thanks for listening, and keep on reading 'The Daily Prophet'. We'll be debuting more stories from our interns in the weeks to come.
