Converting Muggle Money
There are several different methods for transferring Galleons etc. into real world money. The three most common being that a Galleon is £3.01, £5.12, or about £51. All of these have a strong basis to them, and all have flaws, but for the purpose of WR, a galleon will be about £5, based on things found in the book, and JKR's comments, and also the fact that it's just a neat amount.

An area is set aside specifically for Muggle money conversions. A single aged goblin squints up at the customers, and counts the money with all the speed and skill of a slug crossing the Sahara Desert. No, make that a dead slug crossing the Sahara Desert.
