((A copy of the mass email sent out in April 2009, for those who can't receive it.))
subject: Big Changes at The World of Magic: Wizarding Redefined!!!
That's right, folks. I totally just used THREE exclamation points there. That's how exciting this is.
We've just skipped ahead, two years, to 2011. Things have changed; it's a different landscape for our heroes, our villains and everyone in between.
The Death Eaters have been in and out of Azkaban (bringing an enslaught of former captives out with them), and are causing havock across the nation with their increased numbers. The ministry is under intense pressure, as the Death Eater attacks are growing increasingly out of control. The non-wizard-rights activist Revan Haine seems to be the only one who has any grip over them, as he puts the ministry to shame with his superior Death Eater intel. With an election later this year, Minister of Magic Kingsley Shacklebot is being pressured to make a move against the perceived danger and radical movement of Revan, a path that cannot possibly lead to peace.
Politics, propaganda, prophecies of pregnancies and the prospect of a world not run by wizards. 2011 is going to be an interesting year for the wizarding world. What role is your character going to play in it? You can read the whole summary of the two years passed right here: hpredefined.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=news&thread=1214
We're also going to be performing some member activity checks, to help us with updating people's accounts in the new plot, and because the one we were planning to do back in December was cancelled. Activity checks help to keep our statistics clear and accurate, and the site clear of clutter.
Similar deal to before; we'll be deleting all accounts which have:
~ Not been logged into since April 1st
AND
~ Have less than fifty posts.
If you are eligible for account deletion, all you need to do is login once and your account will be saved. Please note that this counts for all secondary or additional characters as well - regardless of if you have another active account.
We believe that members with established accounts should be able to keep those accounts forever - regardless of if they are no longer (or temporarily) inactive, which is why we are only deleting accounts with less than 50 posts (and which have not been logged into for several weeks). These are relatively relaxed rules compared to most other sites.
Again, all that is required to prevent this is a simple login: hpredefined.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=login
Lost accounts will not be fully recoverable. This will be taking place pretty soon, so make sure you log in now if you want to be spared.
We only just completed archiving yesterday, so there's fresh new boards for you to post in. Hogwarts is still currently closed to posting, but this should only be for a few days while some extra things get sorted. After we do the activity check above, we'll also go through and update custom titles and move the character profiles for those students that have graduated. In addition, we wont be having the Summer Hogwarts break, since we've just had archiving and a big break anyway (seems like it would be kinda pointless).
The latest news is always available on the site itself, so make sure you check it out.
I hope to see many more of you returning soon!
