Fears are only normal. I have conquered mine for this long. I can continue to conquer them.

“I know of many places that would be willing to employ vampires. Although I do have to admit none of them are exactly in the London area.” Suki responded, again glancing at the paper. “But all of that’s starting to change now.” She was happy that the vampires and other beings were gaining their freedom, but she couldn’t say she wasn’t scared by that.
As long as everyone kept their promises for little to no major conflicts as everyone settled in again, everything would be fine. But she doubted that would happen. She had a feeling many would be lost in fighting and struggles and even more angered by those loses and heading out for blood too.

Satin nodded knowing change was coming gradually. Vampires could be patient since they had time on their side. In fact the campaign was looking like it would be non-violent even with provocative ministry actions. Such as the four newborn vampires jailed in Azkaban for going on a killing spree. The letter of the law had been followed but not the spirit since the local vampire community never had the chance to teach the newborns how to behave. That had angered them and was only one of some things that had strained relations.
So sipping her glass she figured she'd need a refil soon. If there was conflict it was more likely to come from the Death Eaters than Revan's campaign. In fact Revan had been capturing much more Death Eaters than the MLE had but the rule of the enemy of my enemy being my friend didn't always apply in war.
"Thats why I had to travel up to Hogsmeade to get a job but yes. Things are starting to change" Satin replied as she took another drink and found her glass empty. So ordering another matching drink she added as she turned back to Suki "theres still a long way to go but we are on our way. I don't expect prejudice to vanish overnight but even those who resist the progress of equality will change their minds eventually. "
She truely believed Revan's aims would happen eventually one way or another but for now the methods would be peaceful in the wizarding worlds eyes. Given the suffering this current generation had faced she doubted few bar Death Eaters would want to fight against it.

"I take it you're one of Revan's supporters then." Suki smiled, tapping his picture in the paper as she looked toward Satin. He voice held no anger or accusation, just simple knowledge. She probably shouldn't have said that though it could end up with this vampire asking the same thing. How would she answer that? Yes but no? She highly doubted that would be taken well. Or maybe she was just worrying too much all together.

Satin was never going to reveal her true involvement with Revan to a girl she'd met in a bar but she did nod to indicate she did support him. Glancing at the picture in the Prophet she wondered what the piece was about this time. Knowing the way the Ministry controlled that paper it wouldn't be a fair report.
His support base was strong already and growing stronger as people seen the inaction of the Ministry compared to Revan's campaign. Not that he could ever democratically run for the post of Minister of Magic since only humans could do that but there always would be a way round that problem.
"If I could vote in the election Revan Haine would get my vote. I agree with his aims of equality for all but theres people who don't want things to change. Death Eaters for example who would try and wipe out what wasn't pureblooded in their eyes.
So how do you see his campaign?" she replied posing the question as her new drink arrived. She took out some more silver sickles from her handbag to pay for the drink and looked back at Suki.

And the dreaded question emerged, what had she gotten herself into now? Cutting her mental berating off before it had even truly begun, Suki shifted slightly in her seat. “I support what he wishes to happen. His goals for equality are rather admirable.” She said slowly arms crossing. She made sure to keep from giving too detailed an answer, maybe this woman wouldn’t pick up on the fact that she hadn’t said she supported Revan. She could describe why she didn’t support the vampire himself, it was yet another of her feelings that she’d learned to listen to.

Satin nodded seeing and hearing this. At least suporting the idea and goals was a start and it did seem to her that more people were coming round to the idea. Peaceful changing of hearts and minds was the goal of the campaign which was bearing fruit but a timeframe for the completion of the change was still uncertain.
It may take a few years or a few generations. Satin didn't know which would apply yet.
"Seeing the need for equality of species is only a starting point. Taking action to try and make the goals a reality is the next step but everybody can play a part. If enough people want it to happen and do their bit it will happen at some point. Even if others try and hold the tide of change back" Satin replied with a little smile on her face.
For now peaceful ways were working and the plan was to continue with them. There were precedents in muggle history after all.

“Certain things need to be sorted out before action of any sort can be taken.” Suki pointed out calmly. “Even those who are wholly into this movement would be stupid to stick their neck out too far at this moment when things are still so shaky and confused.”
Of course Revan was sticking his neck out, but a group needed a leader. And all leaders knew that they’d often become the sacrificial entity once things went wrong. Would this ancient vampire be willing to take everything for this purpose should it come to him, or would he put it off on someone else?

"True" Satin replied. "Its sometimes hard to know who the enemy is this time round" she added. This was true since she knew about the murder attempt on Revan only too well. Sad but the way it was right now.
Leaders had to expect that during a time of war. Especially one during a war as dirty as this one but Satin was ready for anything.

"Sometimes enemies aren't the ones to worry about though. Friends can be far more dangerous given the opportunity." Suki said, before shaking her head and chuckling. "Listen to me, going on like this. Certainly you know all of this, much better than I." She must be sounding like some know-it-all child to this woman, especially considering how old she must actually be in comparison.

Satin was only a young vampire but given how quickly you lost your suntan and paled right down it was hard to tell how old they were. So she nodded and chuckled.
"So you're saying keep one eye on your friends. Good advice given the power of the imperious curse and polyjuice potion. It is quite a paranoid time for everybody and I'm guessing the Death Eaters are no exception" she softly replied and sipped her drink. With practiced ease she also took out her red lipstick and applied some without a mirror. A skill all vampiress' had to learn.
Satin might have been undead but she did have standards and liked to look good. Just like anyother woman. Given Suki had raised the subject she had a tip for the mortal drinking with her.
"Everybodies paranoid but don't believe everything the ministry tells you either. If they can be taken over once it can happen again at the drop of a witches hat. Who knows just how many of his followers stayed uncovered and still have influence?"

Suki looked over to Satin, face remarkably calm despite the rather dark idea the vampire had brought up. She studied the vampire beside her for a moment, as if trying to decide exactly how much the woman knew before her eyes drifted back to the bar in front of her.
“That would be a good question, but the ministry is of little concern to me. I spend much of my time traveling and I was born in America so they have little control or say so in what I do, just like I have little to do with them.” Suki shrugged. She couldn’t even vote for the minister, so she wasn’t concerned with them. But if they tried to keep her from her work, they’d have their hands full.

Suki did look remarkably calm as she faced the scenario Satin had mentioned. This vampiress could go back to Romania and it seemed Suki could leave Britain if the lights went out again. A possibility that was still there even with the disordered state of the death eaters.
"Then it seems you have little to worry about. You'll never have to come back to Britain if the ministry does fall again" she softly said as she adjusted her skirt. They both seemed to have a way out if things really got bad.

“If the ministry falls.” Suki nodded, raising a hand to try and tame the wild waves of her hair again as they slowly began to fall into her face once more. “But one can hold out hope, even in the darkest of times. It may seem foolish, but look what hope accomplished last time.” Of course it was just talk to her, she hadn’t been in Britain when the dark lord was in power, but she knew the tale by heart like the rest of the world.

Satin had been in Romania when the minsitry fell. She had to learn how to live like a vampire and to rebuilt a life. As well as learning a lot of skills. She also knew what had happened in Britain during that time and just how Voldemort had fallen. Not the specific details like Horcruxes but that year and the battle of Hogwarts had been well chronicalled.
So she'd read, learned and had came to the conclusion that what could happen once could happen again. This time was different. There was a third side in the war.
"Hope did help bring an end to Voldemort but there was plenty of other factors involved. The main one being a spirit of defiance and not giving up" she replied. "This time it'll be very different since the enemy of my enemy is usually my friend" she added.

Suki couldn’t hold back a chuckle at the first comment. “In other words the battle was won just because people are stubborn.” She smiled before ordering herself a coffee, taking it black. Bright eyes glancing at Satin over her cup, her eyes were alive with curiosity and caution, but hard at the same time, guarding herself and her words. “You make it sound like you have very big enemies. Very big indeed.” She said quietly. Now she was a little more interested. It seemed that Satin was involved in more than she admitted.
