It dosen't mean the war will be over soon but is the ministry really ready for the equality of non-human or half-human species? If you can answer that question you'll be half way to figuring out who they see as the greatest threat. This isn't like last time" she softly added.
She was teasing Suki slightly but the answers were there for her to find. In fact all she had to was ponder what the Prophet had said and filter out the propaganda from the truth.

Suki sighed, looking away. "The ministry isn't ready for a lot of things......the world isn't in some cases too." she said slowly. Shaking her head, she twirled a strand of her hair in thought. "In all honesty with certain people still in power the ministry will never be ready for anything. But what do I know about this type of stuff?" she shrugged. She really wasn't in any position to talk about most things going on in this country she was young and she hadn't been here for very long.

With the election looming the ministry like any other government would have to decide who they really needed the support off. In this case the support of the wizarding public at large and the only ones that could vote. So things came down to the showing the public that things were normal and getting better even if they weren't. The public were still crying for peoples heads on platters given the Death Eaters were still at large and able to still carry out terror attacks.
Satin had analysed this herself a while back but she was a patient soul and this was a patient campaign. She couldn't see people like Flintock or even Minister Shacklebolt surviving the way things were and they'd likely lose an election as things stood.
"Perhaps with an election looming certain people won't be in power for much longer" she suggested after she sipped her drink. She knew if the electoral process didn't remove them other things would. Public opinion was still a powerful thing. Good if they were for you, bad if they wanted your head on a platter.
