5th April 2011
Before flooing to the Leaky Cauldron Arabella had checked her flowing burgundy robes, dark cloak and hair one more time. Azkaban hadn't been kind to her but a simple pony tail along with a hooded cloak and some makeup would do for now. Rosemary O'Brien had done wonders already to try and repair the damage to her daughters long red hair had taken over four years and that was just one thing that needed to be recovered after four years out of circulation.
The other thing was a wand and also a reputation although she really doubted she'd be able to work again unless it was a menial job. That was unless Durmstrang could overlook what she did and give her a chance. Her old wand which had served her well over the years had been snapped after her conviction.
So as she finally convinced her mother to give her a bit of space and that she wasn't helpless she entered the wand makers lair while her mother headed to The Magical Menagerie. A tinkle of the bell above the door would tell him he had a customer.

Arabella head the bell tinkle again and looked round after dropping her hood. Had she been stronger he might have had to fear her right hook but the time in Azkaban had weakened this once stronger woman. A weak body was something she had to live with from now on and she was still wandless.
Just freaking great. There was Dimitrov facing her and able to still have the gall to wear his green healers robes as he passed for a normal wizard. Not the hunted renegade she'd last seen him as after the mass escape from Azkaban. She'd also spent more time in that acursed place than he had so she gave him a cold hard look.
There was still no sign of Mr Olivander yet but like any wandmaker he was well prepared for a violent attack.
"Dimitrov. Long time no see" was her first words to him. She had bought time for plenty of escapees with her ultimately futile attempt to lead the hunters away. It seemed some had made it after all, including him. She also wondered who else had made it to safety.

Arabella didn't want to join up again. She'd paid her dues with four years in that hell hole and the years of service to Voldemort as one of his top spies. Yet it took threats against those most precious to her to get her to fight in the battle of Hogwarts. She would rather die than lose her children again.
He was being served in front of her as this she bided her time and waited. She'd fight with her fists if she had to but she wouldn't go down without a struggle. Right now she was as dangerous as a nesting Norwegian Ridgeback and she wondered if he knew this or not.

Nice Simile!
in possessing the perfect wand. He turned around, with his green robe following his commands. He looked at Arabella. Into her eyes. What he saw there was a different woman. A woman twisted to the ways of love and weakness and foolishness. It disgusted him, now. Adrian pretended to think he never met the woman before, or at least did not recognize her completely. "Ar.. Arabella, is that correct?" he said. "Yes, it is you. What a surprise." He placed a smile on his face and opened up his eyes even wider than usual just to set the scene of excitement. "How are you doing?" Mr. Olivander seemed to have remembered Burke from somewhere, for he too revealed a surprised face toward his reaction. As being the ever so charming elf, Mr. Olivander spoke up. "You two know each other?" he said with a smile on his face. [/ul]

"We certainly do Mr Olivander but now isn't the time or place to go into the reasons why" Arabella replied politely. The act of Adrian looking excited wouldn't wash with her and her words to him were simple. She again sounded like the confident and strong woman she had been as a Hogwarts professor.
"As well as can be expected". A short statement which wouldn't give too much away to the listening wandmaker and give Adrian a fair idea of where she stood. The last time they'd seen each other she was physically weak, run down and still a believer. Which was why she'd sacrificed her freedom to let others have a chance to escape the hunters.
Now she looked like the person who'd taught prior to the battle of Hogwarts as those piercing green eyes looked him over.

If Arabella had still been a believer she wouldn't have been here having such a lovely conversation with Mr Dimitrov. She would have died in Azkaban after her recapture if she hadn't gone through the experimental programme. She also would have just been another statistic and an unmarked grave even with what Juliet and Adrian had done to help her. So these things have a habit of balancing themselves out. The way fate sometimes worked against the plans mortals made.
Then again her children would have been safe if she had died in that hell hole. Sacrifice was something she knew well and would do again to protect her little angels. Even if it cost her life as currently lacking as it was. She'd little prospects of overcoming the feelings of the general wizarding community and even of getting a job. Which was why she was facing the same dilemma Igor Karkaroff faced years previously. He had died running away from former colleagues after trying to save his own skin. Like before she would do what she did to protect her children. She'd exposed herself and fought on the Dark Lord's side and she would again fight to give her daughters a better future. One which probally would be better for them if their mother was dead and Arabella knew this only too well. She understood people well and Lucia and Dorcas would face the fall out of her actions in their futures.
"I do believe you wouldn't like this story" Arabella replied before she asked Olivander "I also believe I need a new wand. Mine was taken away from me by higher powers and its every witches right to carry one." She had obtained her first wand from him prior to attending Durmstrang but this wand maker had the knack of remembering his customers well. Even if they hadn't been in here since they were 11.
Which was a right every wizard or witch had. The right to carry a wand at all times was more ancient than the right to bear arms in the USA was.

. Arabella had much to say to him since the last time they spoke, but little time, for Mr. Olivander was going to show up any minute now. [/ul]

"I didn't escape. Not even a rat could get out of Azkaban given the last breakout but to bring you up to date I was released after experimental rehabilitation treatment. The same treatment that saved my sanity. Treatment which was my last chance for anything other than a future going even more insane and dying while serving a life sentence.
So whats your tale? What happened after I led the hunters away from Juliet, the others and yourself" Arabella replied in a low voice. She knew he wouldn't take long to return so this would be a very brief conversation.

However she was rehabilitated it worked better than anybody had expected. It certainly wouldn't have worked without Arabella's burning desire to be with her daughters again.
"Even with my memories fracturing I knew you were involved. Then there was the fiendfyre which also consumed me and suceeded in killing a lot of the prisoners and guards. I wonder whose bright idea that was?" Arabella replied. She shook her head knowing it was an indescriminate spell and highly unstable.
"So is Juliet still at large? I've heard very little news of that time since I was recaptured" she added. An answer would be helpful since she did know of other attacks but none of the details. The information fed to her while she underwent her treatment had been minimal.

"I had planned that trip but never got to take a class there. Even with the influence and contacts I had it wasn't possible. I was also pregnant at the time so had to put the idea on the shelf until the next school year. One I never got to teach" Arabella replied. This she could remember but it took a few seconds to pull the memory out of long term storage.
"The last proper talk we had was before I went of for maternity leave. We never really got talking in the aftermath of the breakout" she added glancing round to see if Mr Olivander was back or not.
