---BASIC DETAILS---
* Full Name: Timothy Crennent
* Date of Birth: June 29, 1991 (19, 16 when the RP started)
* Place of Birth: Adelaide, Australia
* Gender: Male
* Race: Human
* Appearance:
He has short blonde, hair. He is of above average height for his age, and jade-coloured round eyes. He has a good skin and a symmetrical face, but a crooked nose. He likes to dress fairly simply, or in layers (he likes wearing hoodies, jackets, etc. and will usually do so if the weather allows), but he isnt nessicarily anti-robes.
He has a pair of simple black reading glasses.
* Occupation: Manager of Crennent's Quality Quidditch Supplies, Accidental Magic Reversal Squad Member
---BACKGROUND---
* Heritage: Half-Blood (believes he is Pureblooded)
Family: Padril (older brother), Mark and Sarah (parents), Oscar (Uncle, deceased)
History: When Padril was born, the Crennent family was put under a lot of stress. During his first few months of infancy, little Padril would often get sick. He had trouble sleeping at night, which meant late nights for Sarah, caring for him. Mark was forced to work overtime to afford to pay for their new lifestyle (both a child, and only one parent working instead of two). Whenever Mark came home from work, it would be all that he talked about. Whenever they were alone away from Padril, he would be all their conversations. They argued occasionally - she tried to get him to quit smoking the pipe around the baby, he wanted her to look into doing some work from home, since they were struggling to afford all of the costs associated with a newborn child. Though they never actually fought, their marriage, and family unit as a whole was strained, they were distant for quite some time. Sarah felt she had nobody to connect to, and began to look for outside sources.
She confided her feelings with an old friend from high school. They connected - he was unhappy with his marriage, she was unhappy with hers. They got carried away, and before they knew it they had slept together. Sarah soon found she was pregnant again - this time with Tim - the illegitimate child of her one-time love affair. She has held her secret to this day.
Timothy was born a healthy baby. Mark and Sarah's marriage grew strong again over time. Mark found there was more, higher-paying work available in Brisbane, so they moved there a few months after Tim's birth to be closer to family and to hopefully be able to finance themselves better.
From when they were toddlers, Tim and Padril would always fight. As they got older, it turned more into fights of words and cleverness, rather than bickering and violence. They have however gotten continually closer to each other, starting about the time they moved to England and Padril attended Hogwarts. Padril was quite a prankster, and Tim's clever outside-the-box mind and good sense of humour aided his brother on many a misdeed.
A few years ago, his grandfather Christopher died, leaving his broomstick store to his two grandchildren, Padril and Tim, despite their Uncle having part ownership of the store. Uncle Oscar grew bitter, but still worked for the boys.
When Umbridge took over control of Hogwarts in Tim's third year, he joined the DA, and honed his DADA skills. When Snape became Headmaster, he was apart of the students who rebelled against their practices, but he wasn't quite the boldest of students, using sneakier means to go against their tyranny. To the faces of the Carrows, Tim was a good pure-blooded student, though he was anything but. He admired those who could stand up to them openly, and his feelings for their cause was strong, but he couldnt bring himself to full-out join them.
When Voldemort and his followers attacked the school, Tim was one of the ones who fled. Two of his best friends, Susie and Nicholas Tyrell (twins), decided to stay behind, along with Tim's brother Padril, and uncle Oscar. Nicholas and Oscar both died in the fight, and Susie was seriously injured. Tim broke down for awhile - they had agreed to stay and fight beforehand, but Tim had left of his own cowardice, and blames himself for their deaths. He still hasn't handled it properly, suppressing his self-pity and remorse.
Tim decided to stay back a year and repeat his fifth year to compensate for the poor education he recieved during the war. The Quidditch store has been hugely successful under Padril and Tim, and now neither actually works at the store but hire other people to do it for them. They both take care of the managing business from school.
After Padril graduated in 2008, Tim and Padril moved back to the format of working in the store themselves – Padril full-time, and Tim part-time when he got time away from school. That Christmas, however, Padril told Tim that he would be no longer actively associated with Crennent’s, as he went on to pursue his writing career. Tim was devastated, but failed to talk him out of it. Padril sold his share of the business to Tim, which made Tim the sole owner of Crennent’s Quality Quidditch Supplies at the age of 17. He hired extra hands and continued monitoring and managing the store from Hogwarts. For extra money, he rented out the spare room above Crennent’s which used to be Padril’s to one of his workers.
In April 2009, the Death Eaters attacked Hogsmeade and Crennents was burnt to the ground as a result, including thousands of Galleons of merchandise. Tim was again hit with a heavy blow, but thanks to his insurance was able to gain most of the lost money back. Since Padril left the business, Tim had been saving up to open a second branch in Diagon Alley (something Padril had never agreed with), but instead he had to use that money (along with the insurance payout) to help rebuild Crennents in Hogsmeade over his summer holidays. By September, Crennents was back up and running again and Tim was beginning his final year at Hogwarts.
At first, Tim found himself coping with the workload, but as NEWTs drew closer and closer, he found himself struggling to balance both areas of his life. Tim eventually appointed one of his better workers as store manager, so that he could concentrate on his studies. It was clear that Crennents was losing revenue under this plan, but Tim had neither the time nor the energy to correct the issue. In June of 2010, Tim finally graduated from Hogwarts with a three O’s (Charms, Muggle Studies, Arithmancy), two E’s (Transfiguration, History of Magic) and two A’s (Defence Against the Dark Arts, Potions). After graduating, he also finally retook his Apparition Exam and passed.
Tim returned to the store, demoted the old manager, and immediately got to setting things straight. He had been planning to do the “traditional” tour of the Wizarding World after graduating as his brother had done, but decided to postpone the trip in order to work on the shop. He heard that the Hogwarts Flying Instructor, Louise Troy, was looking to get out of teaching. Louise had always seemed respectful and fairly switched-on to Tim, so he offered her a position as a manager of Crennent’s, which she accepted. Together, they restored the store back to its former glory. The Hogwarts customers rebuilt their great rapport with Crennents, thanks to Louise’s skills with children and having taught many of them before. She also showed a thorough understanding of flying and Quidditch which helped with stock selection and orders. In February 2011, Tim saw fit to finally take his tour around the Wizarding World.
He returned two months later with a heightened sense of scope and a realization of just how big and complex the world really is. He decided that if he wanted to see as much of it as possible, that he would have to start stepping away from Crennents and exploring other areas. Since then, Tim has become more of a silent partner in the business. He still helps run some aspects and will work in the store itself from time to time but for the most part the shop is run by Louise. He rewarded Louise for her hard work by giving her a 10% share in the business. Tim recently accepted a job as a member of the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad for the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, where he is developing his magical skillset. The nature of the job means he has a fair bit off “off-time” in which he trains and completes work for Crennents. He hopes to become an Obliviator and make his way onto the Muggle-worthy Excuse Committee within the next few years.
---GENERAL CHARACTER TRAITS---
* Personality: He has always strived for individuality. He generally has a more serious attitude towards life, but is still able to joke around when it is appropriate. He will often join in on Padril's pranks, if not for the thrill, then for the intellectual challenge it presents him with.
He tries to break the stereotype that smart people arent good at sports, by frequently playing Quidditch. He is a good player, but isnt the most fit and sometimes has trouble lasting a full game.
He can be blunt and upfront at times.
* Likes: Spell and Magical Anatomy/Philosophy, Aeroplanes, Quidditch, History of Magic, DADA. He enjoys muggle things, taking them apart and putting them back together. He is very intelligent.
Dislikes: Hypocrits, Ignorance, Arrogance, anything he believes to be a waste of time.
