---BASIC DETAILS---
Full Name: Hope Laurent
Date of Birth: February 14, 1992
Place of Birth: Paris, France
Gender: Female
Race: Half Veela Half Witch
Appearance: Crystal blue orbs framed on a naturally olive base give Hope the look of an angel, or maybe its just her power as a Veela. Her eyes reflect back to show wittiness and expertly hides her complex workings. Her hair falls longer than her sister's, to just passed her waist, but is the exact chestnut brown. She is an even 5ft10inches and freckles spot her body here and there. Her lips are full and a natural rosy pink color, almost red, and she has a nice, curvy body.
Occupation: Student/part-time work at the Leaky Cauldron
---BACKGROUND---
Heritage: Half-blood
Family: Mother: Rose Laurent (pure-blood veela) Father: James Mitchell (pure-blood wizard) Sister(s): Alicia Laurent (indentical twin) Rebecca Laurent (Deceased) Brother: David Laurent (Deceased)
History: Hope was the third born in her family, though she is also the eldest sibling. The two that came before her died of mysterious reasons and so Hope was always cared for deeply, along with her sister, as the babies that lived.
Growing up was indeed entertaining. Hope was rash and illogical at times despite her brainy sister. She jumped to the most outrageous conclusions faster than someone could blink and always made up ridiculous stories to explain all of her mischeivious plots back-firing. When she was about seven, Alicia had turned the neighbor's cat blue and Hope was the one who came up with the story to tell the neighbor's so they didn't suspect. It went a little like:
You see, Alicia was just sitting, reading as she normally does, and the cat jumped out of no where at her. Because of this she jumped out of the way and your cat just happened to fly into a bycket a dye I had been using to tye dye my tank-top!
At this point Hope was holding up a blue tye dye tank top and pointing a to bucket of blue dye she had strategically placed on the porch before attempting to tell the story. Of course it was believable enough but it didn't go over well when the color didn't eventually fade as it should have.
There were many other showings of magic done by the twins and Hope was getting more and more hyped up about Beauxbatons. She was simply ecstatic with the idea of attending the institute and was having trouble containing her utter excitement.
All these dreams, though, were shattered when her parents pulled Alicia and Hope aside to explain why they were sending the girls to Hogwarts rather than Beauxbatons. It was suspected that the news hurt Hope more than it did Alicia and that was true. Alicia had read about Hogwarts and said it wouldn't be as bad as Hope was imagining. No matter what she heard though, Hope was devastated.
After time she came accustomed to the idea and after a year or two she was loving it. The people and the adventures and everything that came with being a Hogwarts student was just so fascinating and exciting that she began to wonder why she initially dreaded the place so much.
For Hope, her fifth year was probably the worst. The was the year the Carrows came in and Hope found their methods disgusting and horrendous. She studied up on silent spells and told her partners in class to fake being tortured as she wouldn't actually cast a spell like that on someone. In her silence, the Carrows found her work miraculous. She was very 'good' at the spell they had forced the students to learn and she was one of the few they didn't torture too much.
Around the time that the final battle arrived, Hope had had enough of the lies and was all too ready to fight. She used her Veela magic as a distraction and her forte in offensive spells to over-take them. When attacked herself, she relied on her reflexes seeing as her defensive spells were terrible and sloppy. Of course, as one would imagine, reflexes alone were not enough to keep from getting hit. Hope was very lucky, though, that she did not receive a scar from the injuries sustained during the battle as many others did.
After the battle, Hope went on to her 6th year. She did pretty well in her classes but didn't pay much attention. She spent a great deal of time at the quidditch pitch, something she had never done before and found her love for quidditch after some deliberation of what position play in. She found Keeper was her best bet and practiced until no one else could stop the ball like she could.
