So...
I still believe WR is a great site. What we do within our capacity is amazing and I love it, but what that capacity is exactly seems to be expanding and contracting all the time.
I believe that within a week or two we'll be bouncing back again. This isn't a "we're ending it all" post by any means. Just trying to get some thought going here.
Obviously the reason that stuff like how we've been lately happens is because there is too much dependence on the staff. Whenever we take some leave (and its going to become more often with school getting tougher), things seem to fall apart. The solution to this has been to attempt to share responsibility further (hence, new additions and promotions within the staff of late) to try and reduce the impact of staff absence. But as is the case with Hogwarts, this seems to be only causing more problems. Largely the issues are in communication, and I believe we can make it work.
That's not what I've created this thread to discuss.
One way I've thought of tackling this issue of sporadic inactivity is by keeping the timeline dynamic. It was always intended to be keeping to the "real time" ratio, but do you guys believe it would be beneficial for us to keep it flexible to allow for these periods such as the last month or so?
So, in this instance, it will remain May for a few weeks before moving onto June. When the site is doing well, things will resume at a normal pace; it'll be flexible and reliant upon the health of the site. That way we're not playing so much constant catchup with individual threads and we can have a bit more of a solid and realistic plot timeline. If you'll recall, especially with the main plot last year things did get out of hand a little and caused a few headaches.
In theory, we could also speed things up a little sometimes, such as during the Hogwarts school holidays.
What do you guys think?
