Wren eyed the glass questionably, and answered without moving her gaze "I don't really know anyone around here" her tone was softer now, it still had a slight chirpyness about it, but not much. "People's emotions get in the way of it mainly. But even with that problem removed...i'm more of a solitary person."
Feeling the cat move in her lap, Wren snapped out of her gaze and looked up at Bane. "Is there something wrong with the drink?"

Bane listened to her answer and was a ltitle startled by her sudden switch of topic, "No, sorry. The drink is amazing. I just felt rude drinking when you still had nothing yourself. And I can imagine that the empathy thing could prove a little troublesome if there were people around constantly."
Bane started into Wren's eyes softly as he spoke to her, wonderign just how refined her abilities were... and more so what she picked up about his feelings. Than again, he wasn't' entirely sure himself what those were. He'd kept himself pretty aloft since his wife's death.

"Oh, forgive me. I meant to pour myself a glass and completely forgot." Leaning over gracefully, only bending her torso over the kitten in her lap, Wren unscrewed the cap on the wine and poured herself a glass.
Taking a sip, she sat back in her chair, holding the glass, she hung her arm over her chair, looking down at the cat she was trying to think of something to say but her mind came up a blank. She really wasn't very good around people.

Bane picked up his glass and took a small sip as he watched her. She seemed uncomfortable still, but considerably less than at the shop. But now that she wasn't skipping around being hostess, she seemed to be shelling herself up again. He felt the sudden urge to wrap an arm around her.
"So what's it like running the bar? I mean, I imagine it can get a little chaotic when the students get their Hogsmeade weekends." Bane asked quietly, his voice almost sticking in his throat.

Wren nodded in agreeance "It's chaotic, but it keeps me busy and it forces me to socalise a bit" She paused and took another dainty sip of her drink, "I enjoy it though, there are the bad times...ya know, when the drunks get a bit too close and personal and a bit rowdy, but i've learnt to handle it."
Picking up the cat, she placed her down on the floor and watched Nikkita walk over to Bane and nuzzle at his ankle then jump up onto the couch next to him and paw her way into his lap. "Nikkita....don't do that" Wren hissed, clicking her fingers at her cat to move, but the kitten didn't budge.
"I'm so sorry...she's over friendly, she tends to climb on the bar top when i'm working and move along for attention from the customers...just push her down if she's bothering you." Feeling her cheeks blush again, the witch started to play with her hair, for some reason he was making her slightly self conscious about what she was doing and about her home but she didn't feel it was in a bad way.

Bane started stroking the cat gently, his large hand easily moving across her back, "She's fine really. She's a very lovely creature, what's her name?"
Bane saw the blush again and couldn't help but smile at the sight of Wren playing with her hair. She looked lovely and acted so bashful. As he sat there stroking the cat and staring at the tiny young witch, he once again felt the powerful urge to do something more than simply talk to her.

"Her name is Nikkita..." she paused and looked over her shoulder "I have a puppy around here somewhere as well, she's probably down at the bar again, her name is Bella."
Turning back around, Wren fixed her eyes on the kitten "She likes you" she said distantly, "she's enjoying that" she added with a smile. Shaking her head and looking up at Bane, Wren almost seemed embarrassed. "I'm a bit of a freak like that...I can do it with my animals as well...well actually I can do it with any animal I have time to bond with, or any that are emotionally strong...it all gets a bit confusing, and kinda disturbing, when it's both animals and humans."

Bane's smile wavered slightly as he kept petting Nikkita, "I wouldn't call you a freak because of that. Quite the opposite, Wren, I think it's a wonderful gift. I mean surely it has it's benefits."
Bane looked down and stared at the the cat in his lap. He could feel his emotions shifting as he talked with Wren. He was drawn to her for some reason. Her mannerisms, the way she seemed so withdrawn but cheerful. He found himself taking a considerably large unprofessional interest in her.

Wren felt her face turn almost scarlet as she finally started picking up on Bane's emotions. She had been so caught up with everything, she hadn't registered to it. Shuffling in her chair slightly, she cleared her throat quietly and nodded.
"It does have its benefits, i'll agree, but not everyone likes the idea of empaths. They find them nosey and people believe their emotions should remain private unless they choose to share them with someone..." She took another sip of her wine, crossed one leg over the other and bounced her foot softly. "I mean...I see where they are coming from, I wouldn't want some stranger knowing my every feeling, but it is handy when you are trying to judge a person, or to help someone. It' helped me out from being attacked a few times when working in the bar."

Bane noticed her face go scarlet and the meaning of what she was saying fully hit him. He felt his cheeks flush red and he started intently down at the cat. He was almost certain she'd picked up on the emotions he'd been having for her... and her little speech about empaths detecting others emotions seemed to hammer it home.
He gave a small cough to try and cover his embarrassment and shifted slightly, "I can see why it would bother some people. But none the less... I can only imagine what it's like and it strikes me as something that would be a wonderful gift to have."

Wren smiled sweetly at his embarressment and nodded "I love it....most of the time. There are times when I wish it would go away and I could have a semi-normal life, but I know I would miss it greatly. Having this ability is kind of like getting all the latest gossip, except i'm one person that would never tell anything I know."
As she spoke, she hadn't noticed, but her eyes were scanning over him. Taking in every detail of him, his actions, his little mannerisms, and his physical appearance.

Bane looked up slightly and saw her looking him over and felt his cheeks flush a deeper red, "Hence why you want the enchant to let you control and focus it at your leisure rather than it all just coming in at once. From what I've read we just have to do some varying levels of the enchant onto some necklaces and get a determination of how powerful of a charm you'll need to be able to focus it and repress it as you chose."
Bane couldn't help but let his eyes wander over her briefly as he spoke... however his gaze ended with him looking dead into her eyes.

"If I go out and about, I spend most of my life with a headache from it all flooding in, so it would be handy and very much appreciated. So it's basically a case of trial and error?"
Not noticing straight away that their eyes were locked, Wren ended up staring back for a fair amount of time after their eyes met. Eventually realizing what she was doing, she shook her head again softly to break the moment and reached to top up her wine glass.

Bane saw her shake her head and reach to fill her glass and took the opportunity to take a relatively long sip from the drink she'd mixed for him. He felt the liquid pool under his tongue and savored it with his eyes closed... the image of her hovering in his mind. He swallowed the liquid and opened his eyes, finding himself staring at her automatically without thought.
Bane forced himself to look down at the cat and cleared his throat, "Yes, a form of trial and error. Though in this case I have a couple already enchanted for us to test. That is if you're up for it right now. If not it can wait until you're ready."

Wren held the bottle in mid-air, a look of shock on her face as she looked up at him. "Wow, I didn't think it would be so soon...I mean...I'm grateful....it's just....wow..." placing the bottle back on the table, she took a rather large, but still lady like gulp of wine. "You really are efficient...I didn't think you would have that done so soon."
Pondering the thought for a moment, she nodded and placed her glass down. "Well you're here, i'm here and i'm assuming the necklaces are here? If so, we can try them now" Realizing she had basically been blabbering, she let her voice trail off "....it's up to you."
