Satin was bored. Belle was away somewhere, Revan was in Egypt and she was up on the roof of her flat. She wore black combat trousers with a green army style camo shirt with two top buttons open and a pair of stout boots.
She also had one of her daggers and her rifle crossbow with her. This exercise kept the population of pigeons down as well as keeping herself fed. You had to shoot them since they flew away before you could grab them even with a vampires reflexes.
So with superior night vision she looked down the middle of her crossbow. By rights she should have had a snipers scope but she had a simple O shaped sight mounted instead given her skill with this. She could shoot effectively up to 240 yards with it before the bolts lost too much velocity. This wooden stocked crossbow was her baby. Tonights range was round 50 yards given the small targets she had.
* Twang * The silent bolt flew from the crossbow and with it being held firmly in her strong hands the recoil didn't affect her. She loaded, aimed and fired five times in quick sucession. Five shots, five kills with another few flying away in time to escape the cull.
So slinging the crossbow over her back she walked over the roofs to get to the downed pigeons as if she was just strolling on the cobbles below. They'd all fallen in another part of Knockturn Alley and there she'd retrieve a snack and her bolts.

The Desert Fox had been roaming the ally in search of something to do or to steal while Revan was away. Until his scars healed, Jakob couldn't do much other than his work with the Death Eaters. The rest of the time he just planned with Revan or studied in solitude to further his skills. Tonight however, he sought a break, and took to roaming the streets, something he had been very good at since before he was a teenager.
The Fox froze mid-step and his ears shot up to attention as he heard the cries of several pigeons falling to their deaths, not far away. Satin's sport. All four paws darted along the cobblestone path to the location of the noise. He fancied a share of Satin's snack but didn't expect to beat her there.

(lol Foxy wants a pigeon. All you had to do was ask )
Satin was as fast over roof tops as most people were on solid ground. Her light steps didn't even make an impression on the roof tiles as she skipped over the the more awkward roof of Borgin and Burkes. This time the fox might get there first as she stopped when she heard a noise. It had been a random mortal. Probally a resident of this dark part of the wizarding world.
So now she had to find the felled pigeons as they had fallen in slightly different parts of the alley. Which gave a fox a good chance of part of the spoils. She located the first one easily enough and pulled out the bolt placing it back in the quiver. Biting down into the still partly alive bird it felt refreshing. Like mortals gulping back a butterbeer or a slug of a fizzy drink. Satin was resigned to having to be a vegetarian vampire by now as she drained the bird and discarded it.
Now where did the next one fall?

The Fox found one of the five pigeons before Satin did... but it was of no use to him. The bolt had completely mutilated the small pidgeon from its rear to its head. It stuck rather grotesquely out of the bird's mouth... and while Satin might find some edible meat on it, his appetite was somewhat more picky. Fox grabbed the animal in his mouth, by its wing (knowing Satin would want the bolt), and set off again to find some more prey.

As it turned out after discarding the first carcass she ran across a fox pulling one of her pigeons by its now dead wing. She'd also located two which fell close together and deftly pulled out the bolts. They were metal ones so came out easily and these were slipped back into her quiver.
"Thank you Mr Fox" she softly said not realising it was an animagus or even Jakob yet. Foxes were a pretty common site in urban London if you kept an eye out for them. So she didn't have hard feelings against them. They were just trying to get by like she was. She slipped these pigeons into a cloth bag for later and knelt beside Jakob.

The Desert Fox stared up at Satin, with what might have for a moment been contempt. Seriously woman, do you not recognize me? Here... The fox winked up at her; very uncharacteristic of a non-human.
He rubbed his head against the inside of her leg, playfully, more like a domesticated dog than anything else. He hoped she would take the hint and hand him one of the good birds.

The fox winked back at her. Satin couldn't help but notice that so that meant she was dealing with an animagus. She extracted the bolt whch had spitted the bird with ease and seen how messed up it was. So she went into the bag to give him one of the less damaged birds.
Combined with him rubbing up against her leg that confirmed she was dealing with a mortal. Animals avoided her. She bit and drained the damaged pigeon as if it was a can of fizzy drink. A little snack for her as she was neat and tidy this time and placed it back in the bag for disposal later on.
"I most likely know you Mr Fox" she quietly added as she petted him. She hadn't pets when she was mortal but he knew what a dog liked. A pet and its ears being played with. She didn't know many animagi who'd want to be with her so that certainly narrowed down who it might be.
Just who Revan's most trusted supporters were was a secret only they and Revan alone knew as it was a small group. It was better that way as she thought about the supporter with the most dangerous job. Jakob Rosenbell. She did special tasks for Revan but he had to work with the Death Eaters and risk his life on a daily basis.

((I imagine over the two-year jump Satin and Fox would have gotten to know each other somewhat, since Revan now trusts Satin she would know his other followers.))

(( Ok Jakob. That also might mean she recognises his animagus form by now but I wasn't going to assume that. So if he wants to call into her flat he can. ))

Jakob flicked his head away from Satin's hand and turned to the pigeon she had shared with him. He took to tearing the bird apart, picking whatever morsels of meat he deemed edible from the carcus before flinging it back at Satin for her to drain. It wasn't much (certainly not as fun as live prey) but while in his animagus form he required less feeding so it satisfied him for the moment. He was tempted to turn back into his original self so that he could magic himself some food but he knew better than that. Even in Knockturn Alley at night, it was best for him not to show his face.
As Satin drank, Jakob sat by quietly watching and wondering what the night might bring if he decided to stick with her.

Satin then spotted the last pigeon further down the alley and after extracting the bolt gave that to Jakob too. She had normal food in her flat which was good sources of protein but she wasn't that keen on pigeon meat. She could still cook and the lessons she'd learned from the Hogs Head were still with her as she loved steak and vegetable pie for a change.
Blood was still the best food for her kind and animal blood was better than nothing. She'd made the decision for herself to live on a mixed diet of that and food since it was too much hassle to patch up a mortal after she fed from them. They were still good for her amusement and sex on occasion but she didn't toy with them either. The man or woman got a lot of out the deal when she had a one night stand after clubbing.
So what else could this night bring her? She pondered this as she looked up at the stars, her hunger satisfied for now. When Mr Fox was done she'd take a walk back to her flat, leave her cross bow, slip on more wizarding style clothes and see what she could find tonight.
"I wonder what we'll end up doing tonight Mr Fox" she said after her feeding. She hoped it would be interesting but not put her in danger. At least no more danger than normal given the part of town she lived in.

((Argh, I'm so sorry, I could have sworn I replied already.))
The Fox looked up at her curiously as he licked his teeth clean of a feather. He wished he was in Egypt with Revan... Fox wondered whether news of the summit might have hit the Night Prophet yet.
He felt like he was being a burden upon Satin. He knew she was a social creature at night; hell, she used to work in a bar. With him hanging around she could do none of that. Entirely unsure of how to properly handle the situation, Jakob just sniffed around the ground at nothing in particular.

(thats ok)
Like her fox companion Satin wondered just what was going on in Egypt. She'd have liked to go with him and see first hand since she felt she couldn't really trust the Daily Prophet reports. The ministry still could excert editiorial control of it when they wanted too. So she was more incined to take the Quibbler seriously as a result.
Then she had an idea. "Wanna go for a walk in the muggle world or head back to my flat Mr Fox? There's proper meat there" she asked as she was dressed for the part and a fox wasn't an uncommon sight either. The alternative was a night in given she was at a serious loose end for now. Perhaps the music on the radio might be enjoyable and she still had the charmed muggle portable radio.

The Fox gave what seemed to be the equivalent to a shrug. He didn't mind at all either way, and even if he did, he had no real way of telling Satin which idea he liked. The Muggle world could be interesting, he supposed and Jakob thought it would probably be Satin's choice. Muggles always were a somewhat more tolerable breed of human anyway.

Seeing the foxish shrug Satin made her choice. "Then lets hit the muggle world. At least they're amusing" she softly said to her companion.
So leading the way back to her flat she left her equipment bar her dagger behind. The dagger was hidden in a leg holster instead and she slipped on a denim jacket to fit in. One final check showed she enough muggle money in her purse and they were on their way.
Walking across the roof tops was the easiest way into the muggle world as they entered the Charring Cross Road proper. London never stopped no matter the day or time of night. For now Satin was content to stroll with the fox beside her for as long as he wanted her company. Just observing was enough and if she could get a nice portion of fish and chips later and a drink or two.. even better. A meal she could also share with Mr Fox.
