---BACKGROUND---
* Heritage: Half-Blood
Family:
Parents & Family: Peter Chiang (hit wizard, MoM; former Ravenclaw); Anabel Wu (muggle, homemaker). Both hold British citizenship and came from Hong Kong prior to the re-unification with China. They both died on the 19th July 2008.
Siblings: Lucy Chiang (halfblood, student)
History: Michael was a fairly typical wizarding child who had also went to a muggle primary school before wizarding school. He's not really into muggle sport but did cross country running before Hogwarts.
His second year at Hogwarts was during the time Voldemort took control of the Ministry as well as it being his sisters first year.
Michael was a young member of Dumbledore’s Army playing his part in the resistance. He was able to treat and patch up injured students hving some knowledge of medi-magic although not to the same standard as Madam Pomfrey. He also played chaser in the house team.
When the battle of Hogwarts did take place he made sure Lucy was evacuated and then sneaked back in to fight side by side with his father Peter and the forces of good. He survived the battle but Michael was a mess by the time it was over.
He was found beside his also badly injured Hit Wizard father along with the corpses of several DE’s and once in St Mungo’s it was discovered that Michael’s spine had been snapped after taking too many crucio curses.
He needs a wheelchair to get round but he does have a little power left in his legs after some experimental medi-magic . He is resitting his second year all over again and hopes to be able to continue to play quidditch again at some point. Walking is out of the question for now but not perhaps flying.
The wheelchair has been modified by Peter Chiang so he can use the joystick control to hover and fly for very short distances. This means he can get up stairs etc while in school.

* Personality: General Character Traits: confident and acts that way even if he's not. Eager to learn and to do well. Likes having a nose in a book. is extremely smart and logical in his thinking but sometimes misses the small details. he's a classic bookworm who remembers most of what he reads. He is also very brave and determined and stands up for what is right.
Even with fate kicking him when he's down he knows he has to be strong for his sisters and aunts sake. He's now the man of the family and will continue to look out for his sister.
* Likes: Quidditch (Chudley Cannons), Wizard chess, some muggle pop music( mostly classic rock music), having friends and the Weird Sisters. Also recently discovered an interest in duelling having improved dramatically over one year of DADA and a year of studying Dark Arts.
Dislikes:bullys, dark wizarding folk
Habits: usually reading the Daily Prophet when not studying. Also likes being in the grounds usually with his cat in tow.

* Weaknesses: far too trusting for his own good and dosen't like getting into trouble but that is slipping. Has a lack of offensive magical spells compared to others but is always working on this aspect of his skills. Now confined to a wheelchair.
Anger can be a major problem for him as well.
