I read Animal Farm in school as well. Its an attack on the Russian model of communism veiled as a children's story.
George Orwell wrote this just after the WW2 but its still relevant even now.

huh interesting.. I wonder if they have it at the library..though I doubt it.. they rarely have any political books in the Young Adults thing.. I would get a card for the whole librar but they'relike 45 bucks.. and besides the only really political books they have are the Anti Guns stuff...which is rediculus...

I know some guys that do like it. But I don't know I guess it is more for teenage girls. But start reading and if you don't like it don't read it.
I just finished reading this really good book (even though the end is kind of... too fast) it's called, The Vampire of New York. It's about Dracula, so anyone who likes vampires and a lot of blood (violent scenes) I recommend it. Oh it's by Lee Hunt.

I read the whole Twilight series this Summer because everyone was bugging me to read it, and I wanted to read it before the movie comes out. It was okay, Harry Potter is wayy better though. Though after I finished, I was completely in Twilight mode and Harry Potter seemed so odd.
I am currently reading.. a book called The Straight Road to Kylie. It's about a gay guy who goes out with this girl and in return gets to go see his favourite singer in London, Enlgand. It's quite interesting really.

I really didn't like Twilight - and I think I'm in the category it's aimed at, too! Among my friends, it's pretty much split half and half those who like it and those who don't.
A vampire book I enjoyed much more then Twilight was 'The Historian', which was quite creepy at the beginning, and I like the way it involve many of the aspects of Dracula into it.

Just finished Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer I'm actually just starting it again. For the third time. It's... lmfao, interesting, to say the least. >_< All the girls at my school are crazy over this one. Would I, as a male, enjoy it? Depends. It's a bit of a sappy repetitive love story (which, imho everyone, borders on glorifying unhealthy relationships), but it's got some vampires and werewolves in it. Mostly, it's about a girl. Whom almost everyone is in love with (vampires, werewolves, humans). No joke. She's apparently a special snowflake in everyone else's POV (and those who don't think so are portrayed as jealous harpies), but she keeps repeating, in her narrative, that she thinks she's plain, boring, et cetera. Only to be vehemently disagreed with by aforementioned borderline groupies who, in turn, feel that her self-deprecating opinions are charming and endearing. There's actually quite a lot of questionable grammar in the books, making them rather annoying to read at times. >_< But the really weird, very creepy, and highly graphic (especially in the last book, Breaking Dawn) turns the story takes always keeps me going back to read them. If only to shake my head and stare at the text incredulously, wondering how the story got published in the first place. But I do recommend them. They're... interesting. XD

I'm really into the manga 'Negima'. You might find it on scan sites under the titles 'Mahou Sensei Negimi' or 'Magister Negi Magi'.
Anyway its like Harry Potter in a manga form with the story set in an all girls school in Japan where the child protegy Negi Springfield is given a job when he graduated aged 10 from magic school.
Its so funny but its one for older teens although. It's given me a few ideas for witch avatars as well.

Good word! I have to agree with that. I'm quite glad I read 'Twilight', if only because some of it was absolutely hilarious... And now at least I can truthfully say I've read it!
Gotta love Horrible Histories! Half of my British history knowledge is littered with bizarre facts because of these books...
