So what are your thoughts on the e-mail newsletter?
I'd like to see some recurring sections in the future, particularly those created by or contributed to by members. I want allll your feedback! Is it in a good tone? Is once a month too much/not enough?
I would like to incorporate a "Good Reads/Featured Threads" list, similar to what has been discussed here before, highlighting a couple of interesting threads (they might be good diary entries, plot centric, funny, or just have some good conflict or interaction) that people may want to read. Would you guys like to see that? Would you read those threads?
Unfortunately we can't do any special formatting (it has to be plain text) due to the nature of the system built into Proboards.
What direction would you like to see us take with this?

James, I might be a little slow today, but could you define what this newsletter is? Like, is thise role playing news, or is it site news?

The newsletter has been emailed to whatever email you joined the site with Juliet! If you check your emails then you should have it! Oh Wow...I really like the idea. It's definatly good for getting more info about the site and hearing any news/updates..though once a month is probably too much? What about once every two months or something, cause I don't think there's enough 'new info' every month to make it worth the effort for you mods. And I really like the idea of the 'featured threads.' Apart from anything else they're interesting to read and it saves members having to search through every thread to find an interesting one when they're bored-and it also gives some sort of acknowledgement to the posters in the thread. I'd read the threads anyway!

I have not been getting them, unfortunately. I did not even know about it. However, it sounds like a very good idea to me.
I really think we should have some threads in there that are interesting like you said. People could read information about certain important characters that are on the site. Also, perhaps we should have like suggested websites to join too. Therefore, we do not have adds everywhere we see.

As I understand it, Yahoo has decided proboards is spam, Juliet. Check your Junk Folder.
Padril, I addressed this in the newsletter, it's because you have so god damned many accounts. There are instructions on how to fix this at the bottom of the e-mail.
Thanks Laura! One of the reasons its monthly (for the time being) is so that featured threads aren't stale by the time they get to your Inbox. It can be lengthened by having other regular contributions as well (Pro-tip for example.). I know the next few months (Hogwarts holidays) will have plenty in store, but yeah, I am kind of concerned about post-September. It's all new anyway, and the frequency is definitely something that could change
...How does putting ads in the newsletter reduce ads?

True. I guess I did not think of that. lol
Here, I have another idea, but it is more like the thread idea. Perhaps we can also have important topics people need to respond to. Every now and than, there has been a time where it would be nice to have everyone's opinion on that specific topic. I think that if it is said in the news letter, we could have more people that are willing to respond to it.
Hope you get what I mean.

I think the Announcements do a good job of that, but they could definitely be added in there, too.
