BIG UPDATEZ WOAH - A change is coming!

Well, all of the hubub here from the last week or so started talks between Revan and myself again. We've both decided to come back. It feels good.

As such, we won't be moving location. However, expect quite a few changes - staffing, layout, and some of our practices will be changing.

We've also decided that soon we will be skipping the site forward 2 years. The school, the plot, everything. It's going to be a very different landscape for the Ministry, the Death Eaters and Revan's followers. There's no more time to bide. I'm quite excited.

And don't worry, there will be means to get your story across the gap.

As I'm sure you all realize, there are a lot of details here yet to be hammered out, but site changes will be coming sooner. Please, reply and let us know what you think of this decision!

I am very glad we are staying here, since you are rejoining the staff. I have like 900 posts, and I was sad at first to loose all of that. lol. (Wnat to be the first to hit 1000)

I do have a question. If we are rebooting everything, are we going to have to rewrite our character descriptions again?

No, character rewrites aren't required, as they're the same characters you've always had. It's not like the jump from TWOM to here - where it's an entirely separate universe - it's the same history, the same characters, just two years on.

I will have a thread put up, though, once the plot is hammered out, for people to create extensions to their histories for the two years that passed (and the year that we roleplayed if you so wish). These little chunks of history can get approved there by staff and then inserted into profiles. It's important too that you check with the other people who your character would be involved with about this.

If you're involved with the plot, I would refrain from writing anything just yet as there will be some "overall" major plot events that are likely to effect you. Students however remain relatively unaffected. I don't think we'll be doing an invasion of Hogwarts or anything.

We're likely to have at least one additional avenue for you to explore the two missing years, but we'll see, we'll see.

Are we going to upgrade the way we are doing advertising? I really think we need a better way for this site to increase in members...

Students would naturally be two years older or else graduated so that might fill the gaps in Death Eaters and Aurors. I can't see Lucy or Michael changing that much apart from growing up a bit.

To be honest, I do not want many students in the Death Eaters. The organization is not some club at school. Juliet is planning events that are quite serious, and could lead some of her dear followers into Azkaban.

I am not even accepting a whole lot of women into the group too, for in the books, there were few woman that were even Loyal Followers. I hope, in the additions to the site's remodel, that James will point these things out and stress thsoe beliefs when others are making character descriptions.

We're not going to stop someone from becoming a Death Eater because the character is a women.

It's like stopping a character from being gay, as there were very few gay characters in the books (DUMBLEDORE!).

We've always had those standards of DE's, in regard to Hogwarts kids. They would of have to make a good argument as to why they are in the group at all, and how they would manage it.

I can hardly see the relationship between homosexualality and the society of Death Eaters (unless you compare Death Eaters with Natzis Germany.) Thousands of societies have prevented other sexes in joining the ranks. Just look at Sororities etc.

I jut wanted to point out that we NEED GUY Death Eaters, and so far, we have only one (Adrian D,) which is played by me.

I do understand the concept of 'better have something than nothing', but I really think that the Death Eaters are dominetly male, and like everything else that is accurate on this site, we should follow the concept.

It's not so much homosexuality and Death Eaters, but the terms of saying 'yes' and 'no'. There has always been more female characters on TWOM. We've always needed more guy characters. We aren't going to refuse someone because they're chicks >_>

Being that accurate would limit people's creativity too much.

Yeah, that is true. I rest my case. I wish I knew that earlier, for I would have originally made a guy character. lol.

But then again, I like Juliet the way she is.

Jaden, I might know that, but you have to remember that Beatrix was once of the top Death Eaters around, yet she was a woman too.

I was also one of the only Death Eaters around while this was decided (seeing how a lot of the members changed sides of me during the transition of the site :/). There really needed to be some authority around for the Death Eaters's plot to continue. Otherwise, the plot would just go around in circles.

Truthfully, I thought Raziel was going to take the leadership role. He was a great rper, and knew well how to lead others the right way. He also played Voldemort on the old twom (if I remember correctly), giving him the experience to continue to leave.
Until he went missing.

So I felt the need to lead on the Death Eaters. There was truthfully no one else left.

I am completely aware that you were the only one around. I was on WR as staff before you even out in your character application. I was just saying that you should not say other female members are not allowed just because it is canon whilst your very existence in the leadership position is not, understand?
