"Later, Sky." Killian returned the hug warmly, putting aside their squabbling banter. "Don't be a stranger, hmm? You too, Suki. Stop in and say hi next time you're in the neighborhood." She looked a little embarassed; had he taken his joking too far? "You know I'm just teasing Sky, right?" he asked in a low voice, leaning close to Suki. "Sorry if I got a little out of line there."

Fears are only normal. I have conquered mine for this long. I can continue to conquer them.

Looking back at Sky, Suki shook her head slightly. "I'm fine, honestly. You go ahead and go get your robes, I have to be going soon myself." she said calmly. "It's been nice seeing you again." Turning toward Killian, Suki smiled softly. "I know, don't worry about it. It's just not exactly the type of conversation you plan on getting into you know." she chuckled. She hadn't meant either of them to worry about her or feel awkward, she just hadn't known what to say.

Sky hesitated slightly before heading for the door. "Well, if you're sure..." she trailed off. "It was, um, good seeing you again." She gave Suki a tiny smile before glancing at Killian and making a face at him as if to say "Behave yourself!" before ducking out of the door. Her umbrella opened with a little fwoop! sound and she hurried off down the street towards Madam Malkin's.

Watching Sky leave, Suki slowly let her eyes drift back to the window. Watching the rain continue to fall for a moment, she almost felt like glaring at the steely sky. The constant rain had a way of getting into people's head sometimes. A part of her longed for the deserts she'd visited, just so she'd never have to see rain again.
Finally shaking her head and dragging her mind back to herself, she reached into her small purse. "I know Sky said this was free and all, but I wouldn't feel right if I didn't pay." she said, handing Killian some money for her ice cream. If she knew one thing, it was that things in life were rarely free, ice cream included unfortunately.

"No no no," Killian argued. He deposited the money back into Suki's hand and closed her fingers around it. "Don't be ridiculous. Look how many people are here waiting in line -" He turned to gesture to the ten or so people at the counter being served by the cashier. "I make plenty of money here. Don't worry about it. I refuse to accept your payment." He grinned wickedly at her, as if daring her to try and make him take the money.

Smiling slightly, Suki shook her head. "You have to be the first person I've met that refused money." she chuckled, slipping the money back in her purse. "The sundae was very good by the way." She was stalling, trying to keep from having to go out into the rain, and postponing the hours she'd spend with her notes when she got back to her apartment.

Killian guessed from the way Suki kept glancing furtively out the window that she was waiting to see if the rain would stop before she left. "You want a coffee, or tea?" he asked. "I'll even let you pay, if you're that determined to," he joked.

Chuckling quietly, Suki rolled her eyes slightly. "I might not want to pay now." she shot back before shaking her head. "Actually, a cup of tea would be really nice right now if its not too much trouble." She enjoyed sweets and caffeine, but only on occasions. She'd never really gotten used to them having rarely been given the opportunity to enjoy them growing up.

"Sure thing," Killian grinned, standing up. "I'll be back shortly." He headed back behind the counter, grabbing a couple of teacups and a teapot that he filled with hot water and a teabag. He bit his lip as he stood there considering; he'd forgotten to ask Suki what she liked in her tea, if anything. Well - better to just take everything and give her the choice. He set the teacups and teapot on a tray, adding a few sugar packets, a little jug of cream, some honey and a few slices of lemon before heading back to her.
"What's your pleasure?" he asked, nodding to the assortment he'd compiled as he poured tea into both of their cups, adding some honey and a slice of lemon to his own.

"Just honey please." Suki smiled smoothing out her shirt absently. Ever since she'd graduated, she'd gotten into the habit of keeping herself and belongings neat and tidy. Compared to her parents it was a miracle. Her mother, no matter how much Suki loved her, would lose her own head if it wasn't attached. And her father, though his shop was clean, couldn't keep papers to save his life.
